Pet care experience
Growing up with a Dad as a veterinarian, I was always surrounded by animals growing up and loved them since I was little. I would come with him to work on days I didn’t have school and help clean the kennels, and play with the cute cats and dogs. Since then, I’ve taken an involved role caring for animals for friends and family either by taking them on walks or simply checking in on them when they want on vacations. The experience I gained throughout my life with dogs has shaped me into the pet loving individual I am today and I’m excited to meet your pets as well!

Tia was very kind and patient with my 2 year old dachshund. She was punctual and spent time letting him get to know her. He is an anxious dog that is slow to warm up. Luckily her calm manner put him and me at ease. Upon return back to our home you could tell he had a great walk and was all tuckered out. She is great at communicating how my fur baby did on his walk and potty stops along the way. Rex gave her kisses as she left and we will definitely be booking her again. She made me feel at ease and I knew my doggy was in good hands.

My experience with a wide variety of different dogs has taught me how to encounter certain behaviors they may exhibit on walks. I am very aware of things that might be on the ground that can be potentially unsafe for a dog to get their paws on, I try to be as cautious as possible about other dogs in the area and as well as people, and lastly I try to make the walk about who it’s supposed to be for, the dog that’s on the walk. I try not to rush anything, allow plenty of time for sniffing around and gaining as much enrichment as possible.

It’s important for me to know about your dogs temperament, if there’s any special medical conditions or diet, their favorite things to do and play with, and if there’s any other information you feel that’s crucial I know beforehand!
A typical day
I love playing with dogs, especially the fun, silly, high-energy ones. With the dogs I currently take care of we love playing tug of war, playing fetch, and running around the house. I also enjoy going on hikes on nature trails with my sweet pups and just spending time outdoors in general!

Availability
I currently work part time during the night shift at a hospital as a patient transporter, so I have a lot of free time during the day if I am not picking up extra shifts there. Since it’s currently Summer I am not taking any in-person classes so it has freed up a lot of my schedule to spend more time with your furry friends.
