Pet care experience
Hello! Woof! Dogs are best friends, companions, cuddle buddies, and best of all they are family. First and foremost, I cater to the dog's needs and owner preferences. I am a Michigan State University graduate with a degree in Animal Behavior & Neurology. I currently work full time as a Behavioral Consultant for an Animal Welfare Organization as well as assisting a Veterinarian team with basic medical and handling needs. I have experience with all sizes, breeds, behaviors, energy levels, tennis ball obsessions, puppy training, and dogs with special medical or physical needs. *As an animal professional I am able and willing to work with pets that require more attention, special care, specific handling, or those that just need a friendly face to be around. I am trained in basic canine CPR and medicating. I have a rescued several dogs (currently have 3 at home) and treat them like my fur-babies. I enjoy taking them for hikes, going on various adventures, training them new tricks, lounging in the yard, providing them with mental enrichment, cuddles (of course), and just finding ways to make them happy. Building a confident and positive relationship with my pets is a priority. All dogs are individuals and their needs and wants differ. When I meet and care for a new furry friend I listen, get to know their needs, and meet those needs while creating healthy boundaries and mutual respect. I believe because of my education, compassion, and experience I am able to care for animals exponentially well. I live in Kalkaska but travel to Traverse City daily. I would love to learn how about how I can help as well as meet some phenomenal pets. Each pup I meet teaches me something new and I can't wait to meet yours! Thank you. :) *If at any point during my care for your pet I have a concern in regards to my safety I will be in contact with the family ASAP to determine best next steps of care. I do this in order to keep your pet, myself, and others comfortable, safe, and happy.
Reviews
Tia is amazing! There are very few people I trust my dogs with, and I completely trust Tia. I was able to enjoy my wedding day without worry about my fur babies. They unfortunately could not be at the venue, as no pets were allowed. Tia took such amazing care of my boys and sent videos and pictures. I could not be happier.
Extremely pleased with Tia! She is so knowledgeable and loving with dogs and is a very responsible person. There are few people I would trust taking care of my furry baby, but she is definitely on the top of my list.

Currently I do not offer in "my" home care (this may change). As for caring for pets within a client's home: the client's home, belongings, and pets will be treated with the utmost care, kindness, and professionalism. Along with meeting you pet's need while in your home I will create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Such as tidying up, grabbing mail, cleaning up after pets (I vacuum at least 3x a week with my husky), as well as any other small tasks requested by the client. I keep dogs on leash at all times unless in a fully fenced in area. I do not allow others into my client's homes or personal spaces. Your pet is my responsibility and priority.
Information Tia B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pooch has any special medical or behavioral needs. Other information that will help me provide the best care for your pet is as followed. Please feel free to provide as much information as you'd like. Routine, feeding, meeting other dogs/people outside the home, potty schedule, protective of food/toys, areas that they are sensitive of handling (ears, feet, etc.), things your pet enjoys, things your pet dislikes, things that scare your pet, emergency contact, veterinarian information, commands your pet knows, areas of concerns, etc.
A typical day
Any suggestions or preferences for my clients will be our top activities! While pups are away from their owners/people it can be an adjustment for them. In order to keep pet stress levels at bay, doing familiar activities can lead to a much happier puppy. But of course walks will be an adventure and playtime will be exhausting! I love to let dogs sniff while out and about, something about having them lead the walk brings them so much fulfillment and joy. A few other activities that come to mind are: hiking trails, tongue out the window car rides, chasing tennis balls, vanilla puppy ice cream cones, taking a dip in the bay, belly rubs, napping in the sunshine, rolling in the snow, searching for treats around the house, playing appropriate tug, watching for squirrels.. the list goes on and on!
