Pet care experience
I grew up in the countryside. My extended family were all dog owners. I grew up with Labradors, Great Danes and Afghan Hounds. We also had 4 cats and 4 horses. As an adult I have taken care of friends´ dogs and cats during college.
Reviews
George had a great walk and extra time outdoors while I was out for a full day. Thomas responded to George’s needs as an older dog sensitive to hot weather. He loved getting out for fresh air and I got a lot of cute photos!
We have had dogs in our family for more than 40 years; from Afghan Hounds, over Labrador Retrievers to Great Danes. We love dogs and always have. In particular Thomas, who is my brother. Our latest - and much loved - Great Dane was neither very social nor very good with foreign dogs or people, but he absolutely loved Thomas. And they always had to ‘be spooning’ whenever they were together - Great Danes love to spoon! Thomas was one of the only ones who could look after our Great Dane, when we were away. Thomas is calm, relaxed, loving and has very good control of all dogs.
I've known Thomas for over 15 years. He's reliable, trustworthy, and thoughtful. He's also fun-loving, outdoorsy, and an animal lover. He grew up with pets (dogs and horses) and I've seen him interact easily with friends' pets and folks' dogs in public. He'll be able to give a pet owner peace of mind, knowing that their furry family member is being well taken care of.
Thomas has done an excellent job of caring for my two kitties every time he has cat sit for me! He checks on them multiple times a day, making sure they have plenty of food, water, and play time. He sends pics of their cute antics and gives me updates on how they’re doing. Both get very anxious when we leave, but they warmed up to Thomas very quickly and are clearly comfortable with him. I can’t recommend him enough!

A lot of animals have their own quirks, and there isn´t a one-size-fits-all solution for animals who fear being alone or "abandoned". I follow owner´s guidance closely but am also good at reading the room. When I see dog walkers staring down at their phones, I always think it´s such a missed opportunity, even if it´s not your own dog!

A typical day
All pets are different and can have good or bad days, so there is no typical day. A good pet sitter might want to improvise, if the "play all day" plan doesn´t work out. Dogs too can be very unwilling to go out in the rain, and then you need a plan B.

Availability
I want to do pet care full time whenever possible. I am self-employed and can be available for dog- and cat-sitting without having to rearrange other priorities. We don´t have kids, so we´re a very flexible household.
