Pet care experience
Having lived with at least one dog or animal in the house my entire life (I currently have two shelter rescued kitties), and growing up with an aunt that volunteered and serially rescued from animal shelters, I know the ins and outs of everyday pup and cat care. I am also adept at reading the subtleties of their body language, and how to handle an emergency situation, god forbid an emergency arises, so you can rest assured your best friend is not only happy, but safe, so you can stay focused on the present!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! This was our first time using Rover.com, and our first time hiring a stranger to be a housesitter/ petsitter, so we were a little nervous, but our experience was really great and we will be using Tomas for future trips! He did not have an easy task- we have 3 dogs and a cat, and one of the dogs is a 7 month-old giant breed puppy with a tendency to lunge at squirrels and requires someone who is really experienced with handling/ training dogs. Tomas was so professional, and obviously really enjoys putting extra care into taking care of the animals. He met us ahead of time to meet the animals and get sorted, and took careful notes. While we were gone, he sent twice daily pictures and updates. He took the dogs to the local dog park AND took the puppy on 2 hour-long walks daily. He took great care of all of our animals and our home as well. As my husband said to me, "I have never been more compelled to make sure I leave a good review in my life."

Does your dog love belly rubs? Does he/she hate it when you touch their belly? Is there a house around the corner where he/she always starts trouble? How good is your pup on leash? Do I need to avoid passing dogs on the same side of the street? These kinds of things will not only make my job easier, but will make for a happier, less stressful time for your beloved pet. I have always been more of a medium to large dog owner, but I never met a small dog I couldn't bond with. I also have lots of experience caring for older dogs, from oral medications to ear drops to injectable medications, I've seen it all- and am very comfortable in doing all the above as well as whatever your pup may need.
A typical day
If your pup is cool-tempered enough, we can spend some off leash time at a dog park, or even go jog a few miles for the real high energy canines!
