We have a yard and a dog door!

Pet care experience

Dogs were a huge part of my family throughout my childhood. We had labradors, golden retrievers, rescue dogs, and various mixed breed dogs. I’ve been pet-sitting since my high-school years, and I’ve always enjoyed hanging out with dogs as if they’re my own. I know it’s difficult to trust others with your pets, which is why I want to be that someone who eases your mind when you need to travel or be away from home for awhile. My partner Tom pet-sits with me, and we’re a great team. Tom shares my enthusiasm for dogs, and he’s been a dog-owner his entire life, so your dog is getting double the lovin’ at our house! Tom and I also spend a lot of time making sure our own pets are healthy, safe, exercised, and loved. We strive to provide extra-special care for your pets, and we both attend classes to improve our training skills and better connect with and understand animals. We live in Hampden Hills in Aurora. Our house sits on a corner lot on a cul de sac, so we have a large backyard with plenty of space for dogs to run around. We also live just next to a greenbelt, which is a great spot for games of fetch. Overall, our neighborhood is quiet with lots of kids and a dog park about five minutes away. My pet-sitting clients finds me to be supportive, active, and loving! I give lots of positive reinforcement and treats (when acceptable), and dogs love me because I love them as if they’re my own. When I’m not pet-sitting, you’re likely to find me hiking with my own pups, hanging out at a new local coffee shop, on a brunch date with my friends, or reading on my balcony. I love the sunshine and bring my own dogs with me anywhere they’re allowed.

Hi there, My name is Brandi Torr and I am a client of Carli and Thomas. They are absolutely amazing and I will never go to anyone else to watch my little pup. I was unsure if I trusted leaving my pup with people I had just met but when I dropped him off I knew he wouldn't want to come back home with me! They have a big yard and two other dogs he could play with all day while I was at work! They watch my pup on the long shifts I have, knowing he is having a great time makes me feel so much better. It breaks my heart having an apartment dog. They send me pictures and videos all the time so I know he is in great hands. Thank you Tom and Carli, I am so happy I found you guys!

Carli and Tom are true dog lovers; the best people to trust your "baby" with. I have a small yorkie who is a yapper and very high maintenance; I've never had a problem leaving her with them and she always comes back so happy. They are the best and I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else.

I cannot say enough great things about Tom and Carli! I have always been a little anxious to leave my fur babies with someone else but Carli and Tom put my worries at ease. Carli sent me pictures and videos of my dogs throughout the weekend and answered any questions I had a long the way. You can genuinely see their love for dogs by the way they play and care for them. I would absolutely recommend Carli and Tom to everyone I know! They are our top choice when it comes to caring for our dogs!

Information Thomas & Carli M. would like to know about your pet

My first objective is to get to know your dog, to find how how she responds to new people and dogs, and what makes her most comfortable. I want to get a handle on your dog’s temperament and personality, so I know best how to make him feel at ease and happy--and so I can avoid situations that might make your dog more stressed out or anxious. I’m always patient with pets. I know that new environments and new people sometimes cause added stress for dogs. My own rescue dog has a hard time being away from me and my husband, but I’ve learned ways to encourage confidence and reduce anxiety, skills I will definitely use if your dog struggles with the same feelings.

A typical day

Tom and I work opposite schedules, so one of us is typically home while the other is away. The exception may be a couple hours during the week. On the weekends, I’m home, and we’ll bring your dog along on our walks. If acceptable, your dog would join us on a trip to the dog park. In the summer, our dogs love to splash around, so we’ll find a great watering hole where we can cool down. Baths for everyone after! I make sure to give visiting dogs--and all dogs!--plenty of snuggles. I also take our dogs out regularly for a game of fetch. I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures, and give you plenty of reassurance while you’re away, so you know your “baby” is in good hands!
