I have an appreciation and love for all animals. They all have their own personality, special needs and require attention. My personal experience has been mostly with animals that had been rescued from abusive environments. These animals, for the most part, have needed love, gentle care, special diets, and medicine through the remainder of their lives. As with all animals, the reward is in the love they return!! We would accept an overnight guest (small dog). My wife an I have senior animals, two small dogs (5 to 8 lbs) and one cat (who hangs out with the dogs). Note: Our dogs have no teeth due to past poor care... I am happy to visit, walk or stay overnight with pets at the clients home. Size of the animals is not a concern. I appreciate this requires a level of trust. I am am a retired police officer, later worked in the banking industry in areas involving sensitive information. Also, with our own pets it is not unusual to walk them during the night.
