I am a 23-year old young professional who is passionate about caring for pet-companions. Growing up, I have had experience taking care of cats, dogs, and rabbits. My mother worked in the animal-care field as well so I have had experience being around birds and reptiles as well. Personally, I believe that animals should be treated with the utmost respect and love. Animals are creatures of unconditional love themselves, and each have their own distinct personality and way of caring for them (as no one animal is the same). In addition to my general experience caring for pets, I also have experience owning and caring for sheltered animals/animals with a history of abuse, and am very patient with making them feel completely safe and loved. As of right now, I carry out my services in the Boston, MA area and am looking to book a few opportunities before the beginning of February. Theresa cared for my geriatric 70 lb dog, Casey, for 9 days while I was out of the country. She came to stay in my house with Casey and I had complete peace of mind knowing that both my dog and home were in excellent hands. Theresa treated Casey with love and respect, walking her at least twice a day, playing with her, and providing companionship. It was obvious that Casey has great affection for her. Also, she treated my home with respect and kept it tidy.

Information Theresa L. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know what the dog's personality is like-if the dog prefers lots of attention, or prefers a more relaxed energy. If the dog has a history of abuse or has been adopted from abusive environments, ext. (Some dogs have triggers with this past and I want to be aware of any of those so the dog will be extremely comfortable!) I do not have any breed preferences and am completely fine with helping someone with pitbulls as well. I believe them to be big-cuddlers and highly misunderstood dogs.
A typical day
Depending on the energy and the age of the dog I like to cater different activities for them. Generally I will take dogs for walks around the neighborhood, dog parks, and regular parks as well (such as the arboretum). If the dog has a lot of energy, I like to play ball and fetch with them and have them run for a period of time to help calm them. (I find that light tug-of-war works for some dogs as well)
