I was a devoted dog owner for 8 years. My journey to caring for my own dog has been nothing but a pawsitive adventure. Our family has had the honour of loving a 150lb Cane Corso, and miss the presence of a loving dog in our home. I have a 4 year old daughter, who is experienced around dogs of all sizes. My husband has had pets since he was 5 years old. As a seasoned dog owner, I understand the importance of not just providing care, but genuine companionship. I prioritize creating a nurturing and stimulating environment tailored to each dog's specific needs and personality. With my experience I understand dog's social cues, administering oral medication, and training. I currently petsit fur-babies of family and friends. Theresa is one of the best dog owners I know. She has always been great with them, giving them lots of love. She deeply cares for the animals she has in her life, and does her best to meet their needs and give them the they care and affection they deserve. She did an amazing job training her dog. I have never seen such a large dog be so gentle with kids, and behave so well. He was a strong dog, but he walked perfectly, and never showed aggression to other dogs. He is a testament to her dedication and care that she has for dogs, and I can't think of a person I would trust more with any dog, big or small.

I am happy to adjust based on the needs of the fur-baby. Whether it be crating, giving them exploration space in our fenced in backyard, or simply a long walk, I am here to make your dog feel at home. I am happy to provide whatever I can to ensure your dog has a great experience. Though I have not worked with senior dogs, I am good with taking direction as long as I am provided with all the information upfront to provide them with the best stay. I am also happy to take the extra step to meet your pet prior to taking them into my home to ensure I am a good fit for them and they recognize my scent before coming into my home.

Energy levels or anything that may cause anxiety or aggression. This will help me manage any behaviours effectively Daily Routine: What is a regular day for your pet? Bathroom times? Feeding Times? Any specific training that has been done or obedience commands. This will help me understand how to communicate with your pet as well as build a relationship with them. Favourite Activities: What are things your pet likes to do? This will help me build a relationship with your pet! Socialization: How does your dog interact with other people or animals. Do I need to cross the street when I see another dog? Are they reactive to other dogs? Are they wary of strangers or certain types of dogs? Leash and walking habits: What are your pets leash manners? Do they respond well to commands? How do they behave on a walk? Do they like to explore or focus on the activity of walking? Emergency procedures: Vet contact information, any family I need to contact in the event there is an emergency? House rules and boundaries: Are there any specific boundaries you set by yourself? Are they allowed on couches? Are there preferred sleeping arrangements?
A typical day
I love to interact with your pet the way you would interact with them. If they are a couch potato, I am happy to let them cozy up inside with blankets and unwind with your pet! As I have mentioned I am a very active person so Im happy to go on long walks or runs. Happy to not only physical activities but also mental stimulation! I used to play hide and seek with my dog, which was one of his favourite games. If you dog has a favourite friend youd like me to meet up with I am happy to go out of my way to organize a play date with your permission. Every pet is different. I am happy to customize each pet's experience based on their needs!

Availability
Monday to Friday, I work twice a week from the office and the remainder from my home office. My weekly hours are a little more flexible. I am an active individual, I like running and enjoy going for a walk to break up my day. During the weekends I like hiking and keeping active, I am always happy to bring along an extra companion. If your dog is trained to run, I am also happy to take them on a run with me. I am happy to accommodate my schedule based on the dog's needs. You dog will never be alone for longer than 6 hours for 2 days of the week that I am at the office.
