Fun & Professional Animal Caregiver

Pet care experience

I work in Animal Welfare and have about 8 years of experience working with animals on a professional level. I am Fear Free Certified and have experience caring for a variety of pets. Not only can I help your pets have fun and exert energy while you’re away, but I can also help them with basic obedience and other fundamental skills! I have fostered, cared for, and medicated animals ranging in ages from 1 day to 20 years old. I can assist with meal times, exercise (both mental and physical), training and medicating. Experience medicating animals includes giving oral pills, oral liquids, and subcutaneous injections (fluids, insulin, etc.). I have a huge passion for animals and think it’s so important they receive the best care possible so that they can thrive and be great pets! I am also open to taking pets to groomer’s and/or vet appointments! I'm very flexible and enjoy spending time outside in nature hanging out at the lake or going on hikes, but am also happy staying in with your pet if that is what they prefer. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend(s)!

Theresa is wonderful with out three dogs. We have used her many times to watch our furbabies and could not be happier with her services. Our dogs absolutely love her and we are able to travel and feel confident that they are being well cared for. Theresa has even stayed during a power outage to make sure our babies were safe! Highly recommend Theresa for your pet sitting needs!

I have 2 cats and one dog, that Theresa has cared for numerous times. She has always been trustworthy and dependable--I can always count on her to take the best care of my pets and I never "stress" when I leave them in her care. Theresa has no difficulty in administering medications to my dog. She is very attentive and our pets get very excited every time she comes over, either to walk the dog or pet sit all three.

Theresa Jansen is absolutely amazing! She is great with all animals and understands to take things slow with my scardey dog. She is always on time and accommodating to my schedule. She walks them a couple times a week while I'm at work and is very trust worthy! Theresa also let's me know immediately if she had any issues with my dogs even if she notices my dog reacting to other dogs while on a walk. I highly recommend her to anyone I meet!

Theresa is a very reliable and dependable person and animal caregiver. She has cared for, Mocha, our senior chocolate lab, and Boots, our cat, when we went on vacation. Theresa always made sure Mocha took his medicine and spent some extra time with him. Both of our pets loved Theresa, she has such a passion for animals.

Information Theresa J. would like to know about your pet

I have absolutely no breed or size preferences. I ask that my client informs me of any/all medical or behavioral issues the animal may have so that I can best meet that animal’s needs. Do they guard their food and/or toys? Are they okay with loud noises? Are they on any medications? Are they afraid to be out in public/around strangers? How do they react when they see other animals/children? Just those kinds of things. It's important for me to know and understand the dog's likes and dislikes so that everyone can be as safe and comfortable as possible.

A typical day

I think it’s important to do whatever it is that the dog finds fun! Every dog is different and every dog has their favorite things, but options would include anything from short walks to long hikes, trips to the lake, playing fetch or with their favorite toy, dog play dates scheduled by the owner, and trips to the groomer’s/vet!
