Pet care experience
My husband and I both grew up with dogs and have lived with large and small breeds. Over the last 2 years we have fostered 10+ dogs for The Bond Between (formerly Secondhand Hounds). We helped these dogs get adopted and had to teach many of them how to live a normal dog life. This involved paying attention to the needs and overall health of each dog, being patient and flexible. Our dog, Russell, has proven to be the perfect buddy to show those dogs how life works indoors. He loves having dog guests over!
Reviews
My first time trying Rover I found Theresa and Gabriel to watch my dog while I was on vacation, and I couldn’t have been happier with my experience. They were so kind and willing to accommodate my dog. Their large fenced in yard was great for my energetic dog, and their own dog, Russell, was the perfect friend for her to around and play with.
Theresa and Gabriel did such a great job caring for our two mini dachshunds! They sent regular updates and it was obvious that our dogs had a good time. They were flexible and super friendly! We’ll definitely be reaching out to them again for doggy care in the future. Thank you!
Theresa and Gabe definitely appreciate and enjoy taking care of dogs. They communicated well and provided a fun, safe place for my dog over the weekend. I'll definitely request their help again in the future.
Our dog had a wonderful time and they took excellent care of him. They were also great communicators. We will definitely rebook with them again!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fully fenced backyard with a privacy fence facing the street and 4ft chain link around the rest. We live in a quiet neighborhood without any directly neighboring dogs. I watch new guests while in the backyard for the first couple days and do not leave them unattended for more than a few minutes. We do not treat our backyard with any pesticides or herbicides. Indoors we have the capability to block off parts of the house to prevent garbage and counter surfing. We always watch dogs as they eat and keep water available to them.

Information Theresa & Gabriel B. would like to know about your pet
Feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any health concerns. What types of dogs do they get along with? Any habits we should be aware of? How can we help keep a routine as similar to home as possible?
A typical day
A typical day is quiet at our house. We have a good environment for any dog and a predictable routine. Since I work from home I let the dogs out as often as they need it. It is a cycle of playing outside and napping. Our dog is polite and adjusts his energy level to his guest. During longer stays he always finds a way to play that they both enjoy. We have different types of toys and our guests usually find one they like best. I have treat puzzles that come in handy with busy dogs. I adjust my day based on the needs of the guest and the requests of the owners. I am happy to accommodate specific walking/feeding schedules. I am usually out of the house for 2-3 hours in the evening. Our dog stays out in our house while we are away, it is to your comfort level whether you would like your dog out or crated. That goes for nighttime as well. We have space to keep them crated with us in our room but most do fine being out and sleeping in their bed (or ours if they fit!).

I work from home full time. I have the freedom to let dogs out as much as necessary, play with them throughout the day, and give lunch time walks. I have watched a variety of breeds, personalities and sizes of dogs. Whether your pet needs a quiet place to hang out or a play date, we have them covered. I am available most weekends for house sitting and am willing to compromise during the week since I could work from there.
