Hello! My name is Theresa. I have one dog (Otis, 5 year old Pomeranian) and I have been a volunteer doggy foster mom for K9 Spirit Org for the past four years (as of June 2017). I also watching dogs via Rover from May 2021 - July 2021. I discontinued to adjust to a new job (still working from home), but have reactivated for the foreseeable future. During these 3 months doggy sitting, I watched a lot of dogs, majority of which became repeat stays (booked both on and off the app). I have recently updated my photos to include only dogs from this time so you have an idea of the types of dogs I have boarded and how all of their stays have been equal parts playtime and cuddles. As for my fostering with K9 Spirit, I have fostered 20+ dogs ranging from young puppies (8 weeks) to senior dogs (14 years). This rescue focuses on taking in puppies/dogs that may be looked over due to age, poor health, or behavior issues - and I have been fortunate enough to foster dogs that fall in to any or all of those categories. Fostering has also allowed me to work with many different breeds, backgrounds and personalities, so I am able to adjust to almost any type of dog and their unique habits, quirks, needs, etc. I dog-sat for many of my past foster dogs that have gotten adopted, as well as other foster-moms' dogs when needed. Over the course of my fostering, I have helped (if your dog has specific needs and you would like to inquire about my experience related to that experience, please just message me!): - 4 young puppies (ages: 6 weeks, 4 months, just under a year) - 2 senior dogs (ages: 10 years, 14 years) - Heart surgery recovery - Hip/leg physical therapy - Dogs needing post-op care, special meds/food/schedules - Extremely shy and anxious dogs that take a little bit (or a while!) to adjust to new settings - and of course a handful of completely healthy dogs at every age that have just needed a loving place to stay while waiting for their perfect home! As previously mentioned, I also have a dog of my own, Otis, who is a 5 year old Pomeranian who has proven through my fostering journey that he gets along and can adjust to quite literally any dog. He is a pro at taking cues from other dogs, whether that means giving them space, playing with them, or just cuddling (AKA licking their faces like he is their mom). He is energetic and kind and will do everything he can to also make sure your dog is comfortable and feels at ease.
