Welcome to dogs of the dunes! My name is Theresa. I'm a certified professional dog trainer, APDT member, and AKC evaluator. I offer neighborhood enrichment walks, dune/trail travels, as well as simple potty breaks during the day. Our priority is providing the enrichment your dog needs, along with peace of mind for you. Your dog will be met with science based positive reinforcement and loads of love during our times together! We are currently booking in the Valpo/Chesterton area, with opportunity for clients in other surrounding towns.

One of our rescue pup, who was abused, is very distrustful of new people. She accepted Theresa quickly which is pretty unusual. I also loved the videos of our dogs she took during her visit.
Theresa is so great with our puppy Odin. She is easy to get ahold of and she is sure to reach out to communicate any concerns. We are confident that Odin is in caring hands when he is with Theresa, she treats each dogs as an individual, understanding that different dogs have different needs. Beyond Theresa's caring approach and spirit, she has a ton of expertise in training dogs... huge added bonus!! Highly recommended!
Theresa A has been our dog sitter and I don't know what I would do without her. During each time we left our dog in her care, she kept communication with us on a regular basis, eliminating the stress of leaving the dog behind. A dog's mental well-being is important. If our day experiences inclimate weather, other forms of enrichment and stimulation can be provided indoors. I'm a big fan of long trail walks for my own dog, especially at the beach!
