Pet care experience
I have worked with animals almost my entire lifetime, starting at age 10 with horses. I'm the kind of person who took in, and rescued any animal who needed it (mice/ rats/ fox cubs/ parrots/ ducks - you name it!). Growing up in an isolated farming community in rural England was conducive to this. By my early teens I moved on to raise money for animal rescue charity’s such as the WWF and RSPCA. I am certified in Pet first aid, and whilst not busy with running my dog walking business, I'm pursuing dog training certification, and aspire to study Animal Behavior MSC. I have been in the dog care business in California since 2009, I recently made Lake Hughes my home and am opening my schedule to the local community for dog boarding.

Thea took such good care of our Moose. Moose was able to spend time with some ranch animals and other pups. Moose is very energetic so being on a ranch with other animals and some of his own kind was exactly what he loves. Thea was very accommodating and helpful. She provided updates, photos and when I picked moose up she was able to provide tips and tricks for adjusting small behavioral needs Moose has. Only the highest recommendations for Thea and her team!! Will be booking every time if possible.
I was the nervous dog mom leaving my two babies for the first time. We were looking for someone to care for our dogs like we would for our wedding/honeymoon coming up later this year. We found Thea, and the dogs were so well taken care of. We were sent pictures throughout their stay which was reassuring to me that they were happy and taken care of. Definitely will be using Thea again...in fact because it went so well I am booking her again for next weekend so I can take my daughter on a camping trip for mothers day.
Thea was great, always keeping us up to date on how our pups were doing. We 100% plan to have our dogs stay with her again!
There were two reasons I chose Thea to board my two Beagles for 8 days: 1) She has a wonderful ranch, with dogs and several other different animals which are dog-friendly, which would allow my Beagles to do what they love--sniff around here, there, and everywhere--under supervision, and 2) Her rate was very reasonable. This was my first time boarding my Beagles with a 'stranger.' Would I do it again? Absolutely, and without hesitation! Thea, and her crew are ultra-accommodating to your pets individual needs. Thea's individual-styled boarding beats kennel-style boarding any day of the week.

Your dog will stay inside of my home, we can section off separate areas depending on how well your dog is adjusting to our pack. If your dog prefers to keep to himself he might score his own private bedroom! If he/she prefers a crate, that is ok too! We are experienced in knowing how to adjust for each personality type. We have a fenced in yard outside, and if you are comfortable with it, your dog is welcome to roam our 20-acre property (with supervision of course) during bathroom and exercise breaks. They may even get lucky and meet one of friendly ranch livestock (with supervision of course) that are all accustomed to dogs!

A typical day
I will provide your pet with the physical exercise and mental stimulation he or she needs to maintain a well balanced and happy lifestyle during your absence. We are on 20 acres of beautiful high desert terrain, so there is plenty of room for roaming, play, walks and hikes. We have fenced in outdoor areas for those that prefer not to have their dogs roaming free-range during playtime. At night your dog will stay indoors in a temperature controlled sectioned off area (or crate if you prefer).

Your dogs will join my pack! Between myself and several of my trusted live-in ranch workers (also experienced in pet care) we provide 24hour supervision in a in-home setting!
