Hi, I'm Tessa! I began dog sitting through Rover in the summer of 2017, at my family home in Northern Virginia, and have been caring for my own dog, Bella, for 10 years. Now, I’m here in Washington, D.C, ready to walk dogs and drop-in on them during the day. I'm all about making sure that the dogs I'm watching are comfortable, happy and safe. I always send pictures of your dog during our time together. Sometimes, I feel like dog paparazzi :) You will get updates from me so that you know that even while you're away, your dog is well taken care of. I have experience caring for senior dogs, puppies, and all ages in between. I am responsible, hard working and lots of fun. I'm so excited to spend time taking care of your best friend!

Tessa was wonderful! She provided daily updates which gave me great peace of mind. Not was she was caring so well for Charley, she observed some potential medical issues which I truly appreciated. She is excellent!!!
Tessa did a great job boarding our Malitpoo. Our puppy is 9 months old and is friendly and energetic. Tessa provided her great care including walks and fun with Tessa's own dog. It was a great comfort to us when traveling to have her daily updates and photos. We recommend Tessa for your pet.

I think exercise is really important for a healthy animal, so safe, leashed walks are super important to me.

I believe that pitbulls are incredibly cute, and can be loving and sweet dogs, just like any other breed, but I also believe that the person caring for them should have experience handling those dogs, as they are strong and have been bred to fight. There aren't bad dogs, just bad owners, but I think that pitbulls deserve owners and caretakers who are above and beyond knowledgeable about the particular needs of that breed. For that reason, I don't feel comfortable taking care of a pitbull.
A typical day
I like to make sure that the dogs I’m caring for get plenty of exercise and fresh air, so they come with me on as many walks as they’d like.
