Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Tessa. I am a UC Davis graduate currently working in clinical research and am currently in the process of applying for nursing school. I absolutely love animals and have grown up with them my whole life. I have had both cats and dogs and have petsat for many years. I have a dog of my own, Ollie, who I adopted in 2020. I love to take him on walks and hikes, and throw the ball for him in my backyard. He has taught me the unexpected difficulties that can come with being a dog owner, but more importantly the overwhelming amount of love that dogs bring to our lives! I am responsible, reliable, and love all breeds of dogs. I have experience with leash reactivity and resource guarding, as well as giving medications and sticking to a medication schedule. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pet!

I live in a pet friendly house with a large, fenced-in backyard. I am also willing to come to your home. I can stay overnights if needed and have reliable transportation.

Information Tessa H. would like to know about your pet
If you are requesting a boarding (having your pup stay at my house), your dog must be house-trained as I rent my home. I also ask that you only request a boarding if your dog is able to respect other dogs’ space, as my dog Ollie gets uncomfortable and stressed around dogs who constantly get up in his face. He is not aggressive at all, but will back up and try to get away from dogs who don’t leave him alone. I require a meet & greet prior to watching your pup to make sure they get along with Ollie and are comfortable in my home. Please let me know if your pet has special needs, needs any medications, or has any behavioral tendencies that I need to be aware of. Doing so will help me better care for them! Lastly, I will have an AirTag on your pet when they are with me so that I can locate them in case of an emergency.
A typical day
Depending on your dog’s energy levels, we can go on walks or runs around the neighborhood, hang out on the couch, play fetch in the backyard, or go on a hike.

Availability
I work M-F less than five minutes from my home and have a very flexible work schedule. During the work week this allows me to come home easily to check in on your pet and let them out for potty breaks, or to work remotely depending on my schedule that week. I take my dog Ollie for walks twice a day and would love for your dog to join us!
