Pet care experience
There’s just nothing like having the love of a dog to bring light into our lives! I know first-hand how important a dog is to our happiness and wellbeing, so getting to give back to them has always been a mission of mine. Dogs are just so loving and caring, and they require the same amount of love as we do as well. That’s why I’m here! I love putting a smile on a dog’s face and making them feel loved and safe. I also love that I can give back to my community as well, by providing owners with peace of mind while they’re away. I just can’t wait to meet your pup! Although I will be the primary caregiver to your pup, I also live with my husband, Tyson, who has several years of dog experience, and our 6 year old pup named Sadie. We make a great team together! Sadie is one of the friendliest dogs in the world, and knows how to play with other dogs very well. She’s very gentle but knows how to have fun too. She’s also very well behaved and sometimes other dogs will start to mimic her behavior. My husband works a lot, but when he’s home he loves to play with the dogs. All the other caring needs will be complete by me, but it’s always nice to have some helping hands whenever needed. I’m very experienced with small, medium, and large dogs. Unfortunately, X-large dogs will be too large for my home and I don’t want them to feel cooped up. I’m very experienced with high energy dogs, and have cared for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, so I’m happy to take on pups that need a little extra attention. Having taken care of pups with medical needs before, I know just how important it is to be completely focused on the details. My number one priority is making sure that your pup is safe and healthy! Likewise, I’m home full-time, so I can cater to all your pet’s needs, no matter how special the request is. That means that I’m a great fit for pooches that are used to having a human presence beside them throughout the day (or ones that would benefit from it!). I have a warm presence that pets are drawn to, so I can easily work with more timid animals. I just love making pups feel comfortable and happy, so I’m always ready to spend tons of time with them in order to make them feel right at home.
Reviews
I can’t thank Tessa enough for taking such good care of my dog when I was gone. Traveling and being away from your furry family members is never easy, especially when it’s work related. But, what makes it easy is having a caring and attentive people that are taking care of your fur kids. This is exactly why I will ask Tessa to take care of my dog again. She’s compassionate, responsible and responsive when needed. Thank you Tessa for such a great experience!!! I know Marley shares the same sentiments ( he actually told me to write this as his tail was wagging) ?
Tessa was awesome! She’s super nice, very easy to work with, and sent updates and photos throught the day! Koda had a great day with her and her pup saidie!
This was our first time using Rover for an overnight for Cody and I was very happy we found Tessa to watch him. Cody is a 15-year-old Springer Spaniel/Corgi mix. He's slowed down, takes glucosamine and rimadyl, and can be crabby and barky. Tessa asked lots of questions to make sure she was prepared. She took care to limit Cody's walks and spent time petting him to get him comfortable. At first, I was nervous about this "first time" but I got emails and photos right away which gave me confidence that Cody was in good, loving hands. We will use Tessa again and recommend her highly to others needing care for their dogs.
Tessa has watched my 2 dogs since they were puppies. I am very particular when it comes to dog sitters as these two pups are my whole world. I recently took a 2 week vacation and left them in Tessa's care. I had no worries at all the entire time. In fact, when I returned, my dogs loved it there so much they almost didn't want to leave! Highly recommend Tessa!

Information Tessa H. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
When your pup is under my care, the world is our oyster! Firstly, we’ll make sure to have regular potty breaks, which means heading out every few hours. When we’re ready for some adventure, we’ll have plenty of opportunities! I live very close to a dog park and the beach, so we’ll be able to really enjoy some great time having fun together! Whether we want to have some fun in the water or meet some new friends, we’ll do whatever our heart desires. If we just want to hang out at home, that’s a great option too. My backyard features lots of chew toys, so we’ll have lots of opportunities to play fetch or tug-of-war. Likewise, I’m always happy just to cuddle around the house if your pup just wants to lounge around together.
