Pet care experience
I have several years of experience pet sitting and house sitting for people in my area! I did Rover for several years in college and took a break while I started my career, but am now excited to get back to it! I also have 4 years of experience volunteering at a dog shelter back in my home town, leaving me very comfortable with all different breeds and temperaments. I currently live with my sister and her two dogs that are both the sweetest little Dachshund mixes whom I love so much! Growing up we fostered dogs frequently, so I have experience of handling up to 5 dogs in a home at once. I love all kinds of animals and love what I do as a pet and house sitter! I am extremely responsible and trustworthy and leave my clients feeling comfortable knowing that their pets and home are in safe & friendly care!

Tessa is such a sweet girl and did amazing staying for the weekend with my 10 month old puppy, Murphy. She sent pictures, and he loved her immediately. I will definitely be booking her again to stay with Murphy.

In my home our pets are treated like members of the family! They spend their time hanging out with us while we are home and when we are gone we make sure they are set up for success before we leave - plenty of water, temperature isn't too hot or cold, taken out, fed, safe toys accessible, and curtains open so they can watch the squirrels! That being said, in clients homes I fully respect the routine and boundaries clients have set with their pets. I think keeping things as consistent and normal for pets while their owners are away can help the experience be more comfortable with them which is my ultimate goal! I will typically ask questions regarding their routine, whether they are used to sleeping with you, what their rules may be when receiving a treat, etc.. so that I can ensure that! I also do like to mention up front that for my comfortability in house sitting, sometimes I will have my boyfriend come stay with me over night - this is of course after it has been discussed with and approved by the owner of the home!

I have experience with almost every single breed as a result of my volunteer experience so no breed preferences here! I do like to meet the dog beforehand in the presence of its owner so that they feel safe and comfortable with me before we are left to our fun activities! I find this makes everyone happier and feel more secure; the dog, the owner, and me! When meeting with the dog and it's parents I also like to discuss any needs or behaviors specific to your dog! For example, any medicines needed, if the dog has separation anxiety, fear of storms, allowed on furniture or not, etc... None of these are deal breakers for me! I just like to be as informed as possible before caring for your pet to make sure that your pet has the absolute best experience while under my care!
A typical day
I am always sure to give my clients dogs extra loving when I am caring for them! I know they miss their parents, so I try to make sure they are having the best experience they can while they are away! I love taking dogs on walks, playing with them, and just snuggling with them! I also have found that keeping dogs on their regular schedule as far as feeding, potty breaks, & walks, really helps the dog feel more comfortable, so I do my very best to make sure their schedules stay the same! Your dog will absolutely receive extra snuggles and kisses while you're away when in my care!

Availability
I currently have a full time job in Norfolk and live in Virginia Beach. My work schedule is typically Tuesday thru Friday 9:00am - 6:30pm, Saturdays 8:00am - 5:30 pm, and off on Sundays and Mondays. I think my availability would be a great fit for someone whose pet is used to their "pawrents" working similar times as I do, for someone going out of town for the weekend, or for someone whose pet may just need a little extra attention on the weekends or in the evenings! With a full time job, I am very up front about what I am able to confidently handle in terms of time commitment - I would much rather be transparent than not be able to fulfill all of your pets needs due to time or work!
