I love dogs, especially elderly ones, am also available to care for cats and other animals (I will provide a deep discount for dog sits where cat care is also required). As a child growing up in North Dakota, I learned to crawl among a pack of Welsh Corgis. Though I quickly grew bigger than them, I never really stopped believing that I was one of them. Spending my formative years on a small family horse farm, next to other family farms, there was never a lack of multiple dogs of various size and breed around. I also had the experience of helping raise and care for the Arabian horses on our family's farm, many barn and house cats, chickens, and a number of rabbits. Through those years I was inseparable from my best friend, Popcorn (the Welsh Corgi puppy who grew up alongside me). All that to say, I'm a dog person of the first order. I've lived in NE Portland for the last 17 years, and currently live with two friendly house cats and have a humongous back yard with tall privacy fence. I developed a special passion for elderly dogs after adopting a beagle and a spaniel mutt well into their Golden Years from the Oregon Humane Society. With them, I gained experience in the care and dedication that elderly dogs require, and am comfortable with senior dog needs, including but not limited to administering medications and helping maintain their mobility. Since my two elderly dogs passed away, I've felt a void that my cats can't quite fulfill. Please allow me to shift some of that devotion to your pets, to love and care for them, when you can't.
