Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Terra, and I can't wait to meet your fur baby! I am the dog mom of two 10-year old litter mates that we adopted from Chicago Canine Rescue. I have been around dogs and cats my whole life, and have been a dog owner in the city for almost 11 years. I have experience walking dogs of all ages and sizes and with cat care as well. During dog walks, I like to provide exercise appropriate the pup's size and energy needs as well as opportunities to smell and engage their olfactory sense. I have experience with both reactive and non-reactive dogs of all sizes, and have worked with many different collars and harnesses. I make sure pups have fresh water before leaving as well. During drop in visits for dogs and cats, I provide potty breaks (for pups), snuggles, play time, and fresh water. Upon request, I can also provide meals, clean litter boxes (for cats), and other ad hoc requests. During overnight stays, we will do all of the above! Walks (for dogs), play time, snuggles, meals, and more! I am available for overnight stays in your home. All services include lots of communication - as a pet owner who has used Rover myself, I love getting updates, and will make sure to let you know how things are going with messages and pictures! I can't wait to meet you and your sweet pets - let's set up a meet and greet!

With a resume full of incredible professional experience (including several years as the Executive Director for a youth and arts focused not-for-profit in Chicago's Hyde Park community), Terra has the background and skills to take her career in many directions. She's wanted to be a full-fledged dog walker (to more than just her own two pups) for the better part of a decade and I'm so glad she's now following her passion! I'd love to know about their personality and preferences - are they treat motivated or toy motivated (or neither, or both?) Are they leash or fence reactive? Do they have a high prey drive? Any spots on our potential walking routes they love, or that we should avoid? What else should I know? I love all breeds and sizes!
A typical day
Typically, we will go on a neighborhood adventure! Depending on your pup's energy and needs, we'll walk, run, and smell. But I do also have a van available where we can go on out of neighborhood adventures too, and explore different neighborhoods, parks, and more!
