Casita Azul Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

I have taken care of dogs for 16 years, besides growing up with dogs I have had three dogs of my own as an adult and have been fostering and basic training dogs for 8 years. I board a few dogs at once so they get individualized attention. Attended dog training courses with Cheri Lucas, a renown dog behaviorist. I've cared for senior dogs for several years so I know to accommodate to their needs as well as shy/nervous dogs. I currently work freelance so I have plenty of time to play and care for your pups all days of the week, weekend and thru the holidays! **DOG SIZE** I usually book TINY (0-15 lbs), SMALL (15-25 lbs) and MEDIUM dogs (25-40 lbs) PLEASE consider these "best fit" preferences BEFORE reaching out ;) AT CASITA AZUL I PROVIDE: - A “home-away-from-home” - PICTURE/VIDEO updates each day & upon request - A clean space (Inside & Out) - A "relax vibe" - 100% SUPERVISED stays

"Mother Teresa" should be her nickname!! She is THE BEST dogsitter eve!! My Bella Boo had a great time and had tons of attention paid to her. Teresa even has a secure doggie seat for car travel that Bella appreciated. In addition to the professional and personal care Teresa provides, she is also a very personable and intuitive human being who is just a delight to interact with. Her communication skills in terms of being responsive and informative are unparalleled. She sent the cutest photos and let me know what was going on with Bella Boo. She also openly showed me where Bella Boo would be cared for. Her yard and home are clean, neat and charming; I was very comfortable leaving my fur darling there!

Information Teresa M. would like to know about your pet

YOU SHOULD: - Please try to complete your DOG(s) PROFILE & be open to a (free) MEET & GREET, where we will evaluate your dog's "fit." - Disclose if/when your dog is/has been: "PROTECTIVE" (towards food, toys, people, space, etc.); and/or CHEWING on household items - toys are fine. and/or is HIGH ENERGY or considered ANXIOUS. This is necessary to know so I can make sure take the steps needed to keep them comfortable and incident free. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOUR DOG(S) ARE: - FRIENDLY with other dogs of all sizes/breeds; "FIXED" (though exceptions can be made on an individual basis); and, CURRENTLY fully vaccinated & on treatment for fleas/ticks. Please let me know your dog(s) have boarded and/or gone to daycare before! PLEASE NOTE: - I *usually* care for dogs that are Small and Medium, Low(er) Energy level, Old(er) and/or Senior and/or Special Needs, but will evaluate each dog on an individual basis, as I do occasionally sit for larger dogs. I am always happy to let you know the number and types of other guest dogs that will be in the house during your pup's stay, when/if asked.

A typical day

A TYPICAL DAY: ~ I walk the dogs (about 20min) around the neighborhood on residential and quiet streets where I know we avoid unknown dogs and coyotes. ~ Dogs have playtime and/or relax in my small yard (if weather permits, FULLY SUPERVISED) socializing, playing fetch and/or sun bathe on clean cots or the couch. ~ Indoors they have my company and can lounge and nap in every room in the house or play with toys, just like they would do at their own home. ~ If requested I can take dogs for a nature walk at Rio de Los Angeles State Park, which is gated and has a well kept/clean walking path and grass grounds. Traveling in the car to the park, I have a safety hardness clip in the back seat for medium dogs or a small dog carrier with safety clip for small dogs on the passenger seat. WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a leash, a collar and hardness if they use that, food and any medications they may need. I have PLENTY of bowls, beds, toys, etc., so it's best to leave your pup’s favorite things at home (or bring them at your own risk)!
