I have been around animals, but dogs specifically, for my whole life. I grew up with 2 hunting dogs and I have helped many families a long the way with taking care of their four legged family members ever since I can remember. I still keep some of the same clients since I started. I take care of my neighbors dog daily. I mainly want to take care of them for my own enjoyment. I have worked with puppies, older dogs, and cats, you name it, I've done it! There's nothing I haven't seen. A day with me would include a car ride to one of my favorite dog parks or walking trail (depending on the socialization skills of the dog). I like to go to Mackworth Island in Falmouth or Jewel Falls in Westbrook. I also love to go to the Valley Street Dog Park in Portland and the Quarry Run Dog Park on Ocean Ave. If there is a place you and your pet go regularly, I would definitely consider taking them there instead! I am very active person and your pet would be at play with me for most of the day! I am a firm believer that pets are family and that is why I would treat them as if they were mine... I allow dogs all over my furniture and in my bed. If there are certain rules that you keep in place in your home, I will do my best to reiterate them in my own. I work from home mostly, and the dogs would be available to me all day... I do have a roommate who is also an extreme pet lover. If I had to step out of my home for a moment, she would be there to make sure your pet has some company! I do have one cat. If your dog does not do well around them, I can easily place her in my neighbors section of the house no problem. I also have no problem staying at anyones home while they are away, I do this about once a month. I understand when you do not want to take your pet out of their home, especially if they have anxiety or for medical reasons.
