Can't wait to meet your pup!
Pet care experience
I have lived with dogs for my entire life. As long as I can remember, I have helped to walk, feed, and play with the dogs in my life. I took on co-ownership responsibilities of a dog about three years ago, when a partner and their pet moved into my house - that's when I realized what I had been missing in my adult life. I finally adopted my first very own puppy in October of 2020, and the two of us have been thriving since then! After months of leash training, he is now a reliable and friendly walker. I grew up with giant breeds, and my pup is a small rescue, and we also currently live with a pit mix. I mean it when I say that I love ALL dogs, and I have experience with almost all of them, too!
Reviews
Taylor is great! 10/10 would recommend and will definitely book again!
Taylor was very easy to coordinate with. I appreciated how sensitive she was to my dog’s needs in the hot weather.
Taylor is a very mindful and responsible caretaker. She considers the needs of each pup to ensure that they have a fun and safe time!
Taylor has been around dogs her entire life. She has owned large and medium and small dogs and is loving attentive responsible and pays attention to each dogs unique needs. She is equally good at cuddling and playing and walking as needed depending on the dogs personality and what they are used to. She is super responsible and a teacher and a great communicator so she would be able to easily follow dog parent instructions. I would trust her completely to watch or care for any dog any time.

Communication

Safety, trust & environment
I believe firmly in positive reinforcement. I research effective training techniques, and then apply them with my own pet in order to communicate with him. I approach all animals with warmth, compassion, and patience (just like my students!) and I also believe in using intuition to communicate with them. Each pet has their own personality, and their own needs. I try to work with my own dog, and with other dogs, so that I can meet their needs in a way that keeps us both happy and healthy.
Information Taylor W. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know any extra information that you can give me about your dog! What are their favorite treats? Where do they like the rubs? What kinds of humans/dogs/animals/sounds are scary or upsetting to them? What are their important cues?
A typical day
I have lived in North Portland for several years, and I know all the best parks and alleyway walks in the neighborhood! We go at a pace that will give your dog exercise, but also allow them to check out the new smells and say hi to friendly neighbors (if the vibes are right). I have trained my dog to sit at intersections, so we can look both ways before crossing!

I'm a middle school English teacher, but I just started summer break! After this long year of pandemic teaching, I decided to take the summer off from schools and instead pick up job that I could do outside, and one that I would enjoy! I will not be in town for the entire summer, but when I'm around, I have a very flexible schedule (especially on the weekdays).
