Gentle, Farm-Raised Zoologist

Pet care experience

Specializing in home care visits, dog walks, cat visits, senior care, sleepovers and more, I pride myself in keeping your pets happy and healthy in their routine and environment so you have peace of mind while you’re away or working. With a focus on animal behavior, I've worked with everything from cougars to mandrills and looked for whales for a living; animals are my life. In addition to farm animals and wildlife, I've also worked with reptiles including iguanas and boop noodles (non-venomous snakes), rodents like pet mice, rats, and hamsters, and a variety of fish and birds. I am gentle and observant of your pet's behavior and needs, making sure they are happy and comfortable while you're apart. Walks, playing, cuddles, administering meds, their needs are fulfilled until you are reunited!

Taylor was amazing, down to her communication, pre-planning, and most importantly dog sitting. I felt at ease with Taylor watching my two pups. They are both full of personality, which means the person sitting most LOVE dogs, and Taylor didn't disappoint. I can't wait to have her back. I loved all the photos of the girls and updates.

Taylor is amazing with our 3 year old dog. She’s professional, experienced, and super reliable. I would recommend her without hesitation.

It was our first time using Rover but we absolutely loved Taylor! She was so comforting and sent many updates/pictures of our Kona throughout the day. I knew Kona was in great hands and looked like she was enjoying herself very much! We are so happy to have found Taylor and would love to have her watch Kona again in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

I hired sitters to live with my pets in my home for 6 weeks at a time while I worked offshore for 15 years. I've seen all manner of pet care, the good and the bad. I know how important it is for you to find a pet sitter you trust for your floof family <3! My approach is catered to the behavior and comfort level of your pet. If they are shy I sit quietly and let them get comfortable before engaging with them. If they are extroverts, I engage in productive play &/or exercise (as approved by you beforehand) to burn off some of their energy so they can relax while you’re away.

Information Taylor S. would like to know about your pet

Let me know of any behaviors or needs your pet has that I should be aware of and how you typically walk them (by your side, leading in front, quickly or slowly), if they have cold or heat tolerance issues, if they can or cannot have small treats, etc.

A typical day

I'm happy to walk your dog where you are comfortable. Let me know if they have mobility issues, temperature tolerance limitations, if there are dogs in your neighborhood they need to avoid, or if they react strongly to squirrels, cats or other stimuli. For home stays, your pet gets mental stimulation in the form of play, cuddles, training practice sessions if appropriate (e.g., sit, stay, come), and interactive treat toys such as treat balls, snuffle mats, puzzle boxes, etc. (again, if appropriate and approved by you for your pet) throughout the day, as well as walks and/or snuggling on the couch. This will be fine tuned based on your input and preference as discussed during initial consultation.

Availability

I work in an office M-F, 8-5. I am available before and after work for visits/house sitting, as well as weekends. (I pet sit because I adore time with floofs...which keeps me from adopting more of my own...lol! My dog and 2 cats were with me for 13 & 14 years, respectively (the pup in my profile pic and the kitties in some of my other photos).
