Nurturing & Attentive Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

Now Booking for Summer & Beyond! Reach out to me to get your dates locked in! Hey, y'all! I'm Taylor and I am your fur babies new best friend! I grew up being surrounded by all types of animals! Dogs, cats, goats, hamsters, fish, and more. My family had a miniature schnauzer, Cowboy, since he was a puppy and he passed away last October at 13 from liver failure. I started dog walking, drop-in visits and house sitting as I truly missed having canine companionship. I have two cats, Logan & Boots, who are the sweetest kitties and best of friends. I am a huge cat lover and love to cat sit when there is an opportunity! While you are away, you may rest easy knowing that your animal is in the best of hands! I am enrolled in Pet Sitting & Animal Training, Pet CPR & First Aid, Veterinary Support Assistant, and Animal Psychology courses. I will receive certification in each one after completion. I continue to strive for excellence by furthering my education. I am experienced with injected or oral medications, including insulin testing in canines. I'm always happy to provide you with frequent text updates & lots of photos of your fur babies while you're away! I do not require any animals to have crate training, if they are free to run around while you are home, then by all means, they're free to play while I am visiting! I am super easy & go with the flow with a flexible schedule so I am able to meet a variety of needs and schedules.

We needed a dog walker last minute and I was in touch with Taylor she responded promptly and was able to take care of our dog.

Our Lab was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and were advised from our vet to keep him out of doggie day camp for the week for his well being and that of the other dogs. Taylor responded within minutes to me and we could tell our boy was content with Taylor's visits/walks this past week. As a bonus, she included daily pictures which was appreciated. We had a very positive experience with Taylor and will reach out to her the next time we need our Lab in good hands.

Information Taylor H. would like to know about your pet

Communication is key and an important aspect of bringing in a pet sitter for your animals while you're away. I am experienced with many different personality types and temperaments of all animals. Some animals are wildly friendly, a little shy/timid, anxious without their owner, super independent, -co-attached and has separation anxiety, etc. I require a Meet & Greet for all of my first time guests. After the initial M&G, I am normally able to accept any last minute requests. The M&G allows time for your animals to get to know me, while we discuss and go over any other questions that you may have for me. Some of the usual questions that I will ask include; - Does your animal have any separation anxiety? If so, how is this remedied? - Any special food requests/restrictions? - Any allergies and medications that should be taken & how often? - Does your pup walk well on a leash? - Any fears, such as ringing door bells or thunderstorms? I have absolutely zero breed preferences. I believe each animal is individualistic and I will assess each one as such. I do have experience with animals that do not like the company of other dogs/cats, food aggression with other animals, does not like children, etc. Any animal who appears to be people/stranger aggressive or overly dominant would not be a good fit for me, thankfully, very few animals fall into this category. I do not consider initial barking when I enter the home to be aggressive. This is for my protection as I perform services that are strictly in the home of my client, where I will be entering the property on my own and without the owner present (past the initial M&G); some animals have been trained to 'protect' their home and I will not be able to accommodate these requests.

A typical day

One of the most important aspects of choosing the perfect pet sitter for your fur babies is ensuring that they are comfortable with the routine that you've implemented and you are confident that they will be able to commit to the schedule each day while you are away. Animals have a tendency to become uneasy, restless, and possibly timid when their usual schedule is disrupted. I will make sure to be honest and communicative with you to ensure that I am available as you request. I have experience with a variety of ages, 8 weeks old - 16 years old. I understand that each animal is an individual and I am happy to follow your usual routine schedule while you're away. Some dogs love walking two miles each day, while others may just prefer a walk around the block. Many dogs love to lay around, get lots of belly rubs, and kick back & relax. Pups that have more energy and are well-socialized may do best with a trip to the dog park. I firmly believe that you can't go wrong with a Kong ball treat.
