Come One Come All

Pet care experience

My name is Taylor and I love dogs of all sizes. I am a very active person so there will be many a walk in your dogs life while you are away. I intend on sitting in my own home as well after it is all settled and dog friendly. Dog safety is my number one concern, so if there is anything extra to know please make sure to tell me, because I ask to learn how to handle it not so I can say no! What I love most about dogs is how friendly and affectionate they are. The reason I became a dog sitter is to provide the best care possible to the pups and their families. After I found out about how unsafe and harmful kennels can be, I made it my mission to provide a safe environment that is both playful and energized. I have two dogs named Roxy and Jones. Roxy I adopted from the Humane Society. Jones I adopted from saveabull. I've always had dogs growing up so I have a lot of experience caring for them. I've helped family friends in training their pets. I've been dog sitting through Rover for about 4 years now and have been loving every second of it. I am very communicative with my clients. I provide lots of photos of my time with the dogs. I love to take photos at the dog park and it's a nice little gift to leave behind for the family when they get home to have copies of photos of them having a good time at the dog park. I make sure anything that might be of interest to the animals is out of their reach and if I have any doubts about anything I reach out as soon as possible to the parents to get their opinion and do whatever they recommend and send updates regularly.

Taylor did a great job of getting to know my cats prior to my vacation and gave plenty of updates and pictures while I was gone. You can tell she's a true animal lover.

I was disappointed with her service. Upon meeting her I was pleased with the connection between her and my cats, which are usually shy around company. She seemed to be attentive and knowledgeable about my requests regarding the requirements of care for my cats. Unfortunately she did not follow through with these. I had to request photos and updates on them several times, which I thought she would naturally do daily . I feel like things were only half done, only enough to just get by. My cats were fine when I got home, but I needed to do most of the things that I had requested, upon my return. I feel bad for having to give her a bad review, but I just felt that other future clients need to be aware. I will not be using her services again.

Taylor was a great find to take care of my cat while I was away for a week. She communicated well with me before, during and after my trip and took good care of my cat. I'm happy to have found her!

Information Taylor H. would like to know about your pet

As for meet and greets, I try to put together a little something to bring along, sometimes I bring a small toy depending on the size of dog, or a treat if they have no dietary restrictions and my business cards for the owner. When I come into a new place the first thing I like to do is offer my hand for them to smell and once they are ready and I've gotten permission I offer the treat or toy and some affection for them. I choose to leave my pet at home for the first introduction so as not to overwhelm and then if all goes well with the first meet and greet I like to schedule a secondary time in a neutral location to introduce the client dog to my dog.

A typical day

In the mornings I get up around 6 to let the dogs out and feed them breakfast. Then we go for a quick walk and I leave for work at 7am. I return at 9:30am and take them out again for another walk or trip to the dog park. When we get home I spend time cuddling the dogs and giving them lots of attention, and sending an update to the pet parents. I go to work again at 3pm, so I make sure they have another walk before I go. I return around 6pm. When I get back it's another quick walk and dinner, followed by more play time until about 9 when we go for our last walk of the night and back to bed. On the weekends my schedule varies because I don't go to work but it's just about the same schedule with a little more time at the dog park.
