Pet care experience
I started working at shelters at the age of 16 for volunteer hours, here I learned to care for and train animals under supervision. After losing my own dog, we became a foster family where I helped with the transition and training of animals from one home to another. My training comes from being someone who has worked and lived with service dogs in the past. My love for animals continued to grow as I started rescuing wild animals within my means whether it be squirrels, rabbits, birds for rehabilitation. Overcame a fear of lizards to eventually own my own reptiles. Now I have my cat until I feel I have a home good enough for a dog. With summer coming, I’m going to be more available as I’m a teacher and will be taking the summer off. This gives me a lot of time to fill with adventures and what I chose as providing care for animals. I do a lot of trail runs/walks as well as some easier paths like parks and neighborhoods in my area. I thought why not bring a furry friend along for the adventure!

Taylor exceeded our expectations on all levels. She provided excellent care to our cat & dog, according to all of our requests & beyond. Our dog loved her immediately, our rescue cat was a little slow to warm up, but fell equally in love with her very soon! She provided daily texts & wonderful photos which made us feel less far away & so comforted that they were happy, safe & well cared for! She was thoughtful about everything & we would recommend her highly!
Taylor is great! She has always seemed in-tune with our elderly German Shepard Noel and is one of the only non-family members I’d trust her with in an emergency. I always know the dogs will get the attention and love they deserve when they’re in her care!

As I’ll only be doing dog walking, dogs will remain on leash the entire time unless in a gated area where I know they’d be 100% safe. I’m huge into road/trail safety so precautions are taken seriously. My running/walking routes on road are very familiar to me while trails vary. I’ll have a tile that will be attached to the leash in case of emergencies and reflective wear for passing vehicles. Any transport in cars is with a dog seat belt, or if a cat in a crate.

It’s important to know if the dogs have any of their own needs that need to be addressed ahead of time that could be of concern when in my care whether it’s physical Or behavior. Do they have medical needs? Do they get along with other dogs? Do they not get along with kids? What’s their favorite thing to do? This heavily decides on the day we’d have together so that our friend doesn’t get stressed, hurt, or anxious when in my care. These are things we can also discuss more in depth at a meet and greet to see if I’d be a good match for you and your pet!
A typical day
Depending on the type of dog and comfort level adventures can include hikes around my favorite parts of Connecticut, playing in creeks and streams, adventuring the parks to experience people and other dogs. Get energy out at trail runs or doggy obstacles. Play games that challenge the mental capabilities of the fur friends. Also lots of cuddles because I’m a sucker for the cuddles.
