Pet care experience
I have cared for many dog breeds since I was 11 years old. Since then, I have worked as a kennel technician for 2 years and as a veterinary assistant for 2 years at multiple vet hospitals in Delaware. Currently, I work at Centreville Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary assistant.** Additionally, I have been caring for pets for family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances for 5 years. I have extensive experience in taking care of pets and providing them with the best care possible. I am knowledgeable in providing basic health care for dogs and cats, such as grooming, bathing, feeding, and medicating. I am also experienced in walking and exercising pets and providing companionship and emotional support. I also foster medicated cats and care for shelter animals. With each pet I care for, I play with them, read their body language, and treat them as I would my own dog or cat. **My dog sitting is not affiliated with Centreville Veterinary Hospital or any hospitals connected to Centreville Veterinary Hospital. We cannot thank Taylor enough for the incredible care she gave our dog, Evan! Evan is a newly rescued dog who had feeding issues and still so much to learn and Taylor took the time to cater to all his needs and our anxieties of leaving him for two weeks. She sent us photos everyday and updates of how he was eating and the exercise he got everyday. She took the time to take him on hikes and even offered to take him home with her to spend Thanksgiving Day with her family. We could see the affection she showed him on our Ring cameras and how well he responded to her when they were outside playing. If I could give her 10 stars I would. She is a real gem and we would highly recommend her.
Taylor does such a great job taking care of our Abel. She sends pictures in the morning and evening with updates. I appreciate the great care she takes of him.

Also since I have fur babies of my own, I know how to make your fur baby (dog or cat) feel comfortable and safe with me. I understand how important it is for your pet to know they are safe with me, so I take extra steps to ensure they are comfortable and relaxed. I provide plenty of treats and lots of love and affection, so your pet can feel at home. In addition, I prefer to meet with your fur baby before you choose me for services to see if your pet seems comfortable!

I would appreciate knowing if your pet requires medication, special treatment, or has any behavior I need to know. For example, if they are nervous or uncomfortable around strangers. Also, I would appreciate knowing if you will provide treats for me to give your fur baby or if I will need to bring any.
A typical day
When watching pets I always make sure they are mentally and physically challenged while under my care. If you have a dog with more energy, I have the energy to ensure they receive enough activity to satisfy them. I am an avid runner and I play a mean game of tug of war. Also, since I have experience as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant, I know of different homemade toys that can provide your dog with lots of mental stimulation. For example, placing treats inside towels tied together provides mental stimulation, light exercise, and mimics instinctive behaviors like sniffing and searching for food. Also if requested, I will research any parks around that will be suitable to provide your dog with a fun and stimulating walk For cats, I read their body language to see if they require or want to play. Once I determine this, I will use toys (provided or bring toys specifically for your cat if needed) to play with your cat and provide mental and physical stimulation.
