Hobby farm with lots of friends

Pet care experience

I own a farm in Cambridge and in addition to raising Great Pyrenees, I have cattle and pigs. I have always had dogs and cats in my life - I absolutely adore animals! My Great Pyrenees are livestock guardians. I currently have 4 of them. I also have a rescue dog who is 8 and a 10 year old Pug, Sophie. There is a mini potbelly pig in the mix as well. Her name is Penelope.

Taylor was amazing!! She accommodated a last minute request for our puppy for a wedding. She put our minds at ease. She sent updates and photos. Thank you Taylor! We'll reach out in the future!!

Taylor was great with our little girl. She was patient and made her comfortable. She kept me updated which I really appreciated. I would take my pup there again.

I have a large fenced in yard as well as fenced paddocks for running and playing in. The livestock guardians are generally out with the farm animals. The pug, mini pig and occasionally the rescue stay inside and in the fenced yard area. The larger dogs will come in occasionally. Since I own a hobby farm, I have lots of experience with animal care from administering medications to birthing animals. I always strive to ensure they are comfortable, happy and safe. I am comfortable with eye and ear treatments from my own animals. I also have dealt with many emergent issues and worked with the U of M animal hospital to provide the best care for my animals when needed. The livestock guardians are all wonderful and very sweet. Two of them are in training to be therapy dogs. They love to run and play during the day. They can be separated from any animals that are boarding if requested as well. I breed the Great Pyrenees so they are intact. I have 3 females and a male. The male is currently 7 months old. While I know first hand it can be hard to find care for animals that are intact, I would not be able to accommodate unaltered animals as a result.

Information Taylor C. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know if your dog is vaccinated for rabies, distemper, bordetella and parvo. I would also like to know if your dog takes flea / tick and heart worm medication before their visit. If you have any other tips on their favorite activities, behaviors or anything else I should know, please pass that along as well! All of my dogs and farm animals are fully vaccinated including lyme's disease for the dogs. The pug and the mixed dog (Eike) are both spayed.

A typical day

I love to go one walks and have them out to play in the yard! I live on a long street so I generally walk the dogs either through my 30 acres of trails through the woods on my land or up and down the street, depending on the weather. My woods are in a lower spot so if there was recent rain or snow, it can get wet. When it is wet, I walk them up and down the street or occasionally on my hay fields. My livestock guardians work so they are often out with their animals. They come into the fenced area around my house a few times per day to play with Eike and Sophie. Alphonse is still a puppy so he does not stay out with the livestock full time. He is usually somewhere near me but he gets braver every day.

I work full time but generally from home. I am not available to take boarding requests for when I am out of town for work. Although I do have a farm hand to help with my animals when I am away, I want to be sure I can provide hands on care for your pets too! Since I have a farm, I do routine farm chores and animal care daily. I trained in molecular biology and now work for an advanced wound care company. I take breaks during the day to check the animals and bring my dogs for walks. My greatest joy is spending time with my animals.
