I love all animals as if they're my own, and caring for them has always been my passion. I have been walking and sitting dogs of all ages for friends, family and neighbors throughout my life. I am also currently in a positive psychology dog training program with the goal of preventing euthanasia caused by behavioral issues. Because of my flexible schedule, I have also been volunteering to walk adoptable dogs at the pet store near me. When I was 21 I adopted a senior pup with cancer named Pepper and was lucky enough to spend the last few years of her life with her, which included lots of monitoring and special foods. I have also watched other dogs and cats with medical needs, such as eye drops or other medications. I have had my sidekick Oak since she was a puppy. This past summer, Oak and I drove out to Texas to dog, cat and housesit at three different homes around Austin. We watched a large breed puppy, a senior cat, and an adult cat. This past December, I flew back to Texas to watch the same large breed puppy again. I understand how important comfort, as well as mental and physical stimulation, are, especially when around new people or in new environments.
