The story everyone loves hearing is about how 6 puppies landed in my lap, born from a street dog, on a beach-side town in Panama. I raised them until I found them forever homes at 8-10 weeks. (You can see my efforts here: bit.ly/boomerspups.) It was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I've ever done. Subsequently, I travelled throughout Mexico for off and on for a few years petsitting in various cities and town. Previously, I dog-sat in NYC for about a week at a time, taking dogs on walks or to the dog park. Whether it's in a rural setting or a city setting, I'm comfortable with all types of dogs--stubborn, strong or just the ones who need love. But my first pet-sitting experiences started in NYC for friends and neighbors's cats when they went on vacation. One cat, Mr Kitty, required twice daily diabetes shots and only drank from a new glass of water every time--I complied with his neurosis and in turn fell in love with him over the years.
