My husband and I got involved with Rover a few years ago before we had our own dog; we were trying to figure out if we were ready for a pup of our own, and wanted to learn about some more breeds - and we ended up loving dogsitting! While we now have our own dog to keep us occupied, we still love meeting people and their dogs this way. We both travel a lot and find ourselves reliant on dogsitters, and because of this want to do what we can to ensure there is a reliable supply of providers for other dog parents. We live in an apartment on the Harvard Business School campus, which means we have lots of beautiful and quiet space for long dog walks near the Charles River. Although we don't have a fenced yard, there are on- and off-leash dog parks nearby that we are happy to visit - and there are also tons of dogs in our neighborhood who will happily give your pup their daily dose of socialization. I also tend to spend a good chunk of the day working in on-campus buildings, and bring the dog along. I'm currently a student so home frequently thoughout the day (and in some cases home all day); your dog will rarely need to go more than a few hours alone. Because we do have our own dog, we do ask to set up a meet-and-greet to make sure our pups get along. Alternatively, for short stays, we can arrange for something in your home and avoid having the dogs interact.
