COVID-19 precautions: I will show up with a mask while with you and your pets. I abide by CDC guidelines. Hi, my name is Tate. I'm a PhD student at UC Davis and have owned cats and dogs my entire life. At 10 years old, I started attending Guide Dog meetings where I learned how to train dogs. During my involvement in Guide Dogs, I took care of dogs while the trainers were out of town and acted as a substitute trainer. Since then I have been pet sitting for neighbors and friends. I've been doing Rover since 2018 and can take care of various pets and needs. Dogs, cats, smaller mammals, birds, and reptiles are all fine.

Please provide WRITTEN instructions about routines in your itinerary or care instructions. If there are specific times a day for feeding, wet and dry food combinations at different times, or any random problems like if your animal is prone to digging through the trash, eating fallen fruit in the yard, doesn’t like sharing a litter box, keep me in the loop so I can keep them well fed and away from problematic foods. If I don't know about an issue, I can't help it! So please be thorough about any little and big details I should know or may encounter at your home, around the property, or out on walks. I want to give your loved ones the best care I can possibly provide.
A typical day
I will treat your pet as if they were my own. I am a very attentive pet owner and will constantly be alert to your pet's needs such as needing a potty break, getting thirsty or hungry, or just needing a little bit of love.

Availability
I’m a graduate student researcher, so my schedule varies. I typically work 4-7 hour days in the lab 4-5 days a week. I feed and check on animals before going to work and after when performing at-home stays. I can do check-ins and walks in the morning before work and late afternoons-evening on weekdays. Weekends I’m in town I can stay in your home most of the time with your pets.
