Pet care experience
Hi my name is Tara. Since childhood I have always loved animals and have owned many pets and dogs. I am very involved in animal rescue and have adopted all of my previous dogs including Labradors, Doberman, Siberian Husky, Pug, Chow Chow, and Whippet mixes. I have worked in both private veterinary clinics and in animal shelters as a veterinary technician for the last 10 years. I am experienced in proper pet care, basic training, giving medications and injections. Your pet's safety is my top priority that is why I am certified in pet CPR and first aide. I have been a pet sitter for many years and would care for your animals as if they were my own. I know first hand how hard it can be to leave your pets when going on vacation or when working long hours. This was my husband and my first time trying out a sitter for our pet-child that is not a family member or close friend, and Tara exceeded our expectations. We sought out multiple pet sitters before contacting Tara because we knew we wanted someone with high levels of experience. Our cat has always been a little aggressive, but more difficult and territorial recently, and we weren't sure how a week away would go with a new person in the house. Tara was the perfect addition to check on our cat. She was so great giving us updates daily and constantly keeping us informed on medications, playing, eating, interaction, etc. She also picked up our mail and took out our trash. Tara is seriously amazing, and we couldn't be happier with how the week went. I came home to a happy pet, and that is everything we could have wanted.
Tara did a great job of letting me know how our 2 pups were doing while we were gone. Our dogs are not the easiest dogs to take care of but they sure enjoyed her company.
Tara and myself have been friends for over 14 years and in that timeframe she has shown loyalty beyond just a friendship. She has cared for both of my animals and my trust in her grows daily. She loves animals and her passion for them shows in her care for them. I don’t trust anyone but her with my dog if I was to need a dog sitter. Even if months pass that my dog/child haven’t seen her - he remembers her every time and showers her with kisses. I recommend her to care for anyone’s furry child. They will be in good hands, if not the best.
Tara has cared for our two dogs for several years (dogs are now 14 and 13), the occasional foster dog, as well as other animals we have had in our home over time (cats, iguana and fish). She arrives on time and been very responsible and attentive with our pets. She is my first choice when I need a a caregiver/pet sitter to come into my home.
