I work full time, but with pretty flexible hours with enough heads-up. I have dogs and cats of my own, so I already have an easy routine of caring for them and it's quite easy to add another. I move my work schedule around to maximize the best times for hikes/outside time for the dogs depending on the weather. I try to take at least one of my dogs for hikes at the Clemson Experimental Forest 2-3x a week.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard with a small (fully enclosed and secure) chicken run. Any visiting dogs would have supervised time to play in the yard or the fenced back deck several times a day. I have 3 friendly dogs who would love to play or just hang out, or can be kept fully separate from any visitor if the visitor needs their space. They are used to mixing or staying separate from any visiting dogs/cats. I also have two cats who are dog friendly, or remain completely upstairs to themselves if any visitors aren't cat friendly. Visiting pets are setup in my home office with a crate of their own (if needed), plenty of windows, and room to play or bed to nap on.

Information Tara T. would like to know about your pet
Let me know any preferences or quirks your dog/cat might have in advance. I'm especially comfortable with large dogs (my own being Great Pyrenees) and other independent-minded breeds that love their own time and space as much as they like to be around their people. If your dog prefers not to compete with others for attention, let me know and I have an alternate routine that gives your pet a lot more one-on-one time. Additionally, I can accommodate most medical needs, as I've given meds (including insulin) to a variety of pets as needed over the years.
A typical day
I get up with the sun, which often means a quick early walk (weather willing) or play time in the yard before breakfast. At least 2-3x a week, I take one of my dogs to hike in the CEF (fully on-leash, but lots of exploring at his own speed). Visiting dogs would be welcome to join our hike, if they like. While I'm home, we hang out on my fence back deck (raised 15ft above the yard) where all dogs love to hang out and watch all the squirrels, birds, and other woodland wildlife. None of my dogs like to play fetch, but the backyard has plenty of room to run for those who want to. I do work during the week, but if I have a guest pet I am not at work for longer than 6 hours. I move meetings around or to zoom to allow for the guest pet's optimum routine to be happy and comfortable.

Pet care experience
I've run a dog rescue that placed 1000+ dogs in new homes in 3 years, worked as a live-in animal care taker at a dog and cat boarding facility, and trained several service dogs for a national service dog organization. I've had dogs and cats of my own for over 20 years, and am often the person's friends and family call when they have a dog/cat question instead of google. I've seen and done it all, which means I know how to manage a wide variety of dogs and cats (and more) with all their personalities and quirks.

Reviews

Tara kept three of our dogs at once while we attended a funeral. Two were 5 MO old puppies that wrestle incessantly. So thankful to Tara.

Tara took my girl in last minute which I'm very thankful for as I had a graduation to attend. She updated me with pictures and how my dog was doing. It was the first time I've left my dog and it wasn't easy but seeing the pictures and even a video made me feel much better. Thank you Tara!!

Tara was great with Trapper. She was super flexible and easy to work with and sent several pics so we knew he was having fun and being well taken care of. We weren’t sure if he’d be ok playing with her dogs, but they were super sweet and immediately accepted him as part of the group. He had a blast while we were away.
Tara is great with animals. While being a fur parent to her own herd of animals (3 dogs, 2 cats, and a hole host of chickens), Tara has also found time to help others with their animals. For me she helped me adopt Sierra along with help to train her. She has helped others to find their forever animals. Tara is well versed in animal wrangling, mindful of medications, and has seen nearly everything when it comes to dog care.
