I have had cats since childhood. I started dog-sitting in homes of friends and relatives as a teenager. When I lived in another area, I was one friend's main pet-sitter (dog and cat) and watched them overnight many times a year. I have done both daily and overnight cat-sitting for several friends and colleagues in all the cities in which I have lived. I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, so I understand principles of behaviorism very well - if you have trained your animal, I will make sure to keep your hard work going! Pets seem to really love me, and I am certainly no stranger to sitting on the floor playing with friends' pets - even when there is a perfectly nice empty couch right behind me. I have two young cats of my own, and I think they are pretty wonderful. They are littermates who were rescued from a construction site in North Carolina. One has special needs (he has cerebellar hypoplasia), and he is doing great.
