Dog & cat boarding in my home

Pet care experience

My husband and I have done petsitting and fostered pets in our home for many years now. I was a veterinarian technician for 8+ yrs and am completely comfortable giving any medications including injectable ones and/or subcutaneous fluids for pets with medical issues that require any. I currently work part time as a manager at a professional dog boarding facility. I work short split shifts with 3 hour long lunch breaks so I’m never gone for long stretches. Most importantly either my husband or my mother are always at the house while I work because I have young kids so pets aren’t left alone while I’m working. Dogs get to stay in my fully furnished basement and have access to all the amenities they’d have at home including cuddling on the couch, relaxing on fluffy dog beds or even sprawling out on an actual bed if that’s something they’re used to. Pups love romping around in the big living room area. Dogs are walked on extra long 20ft leashes so they can get their zoomies out and just have extra space to romp around.

Tara took very good care of Danny and Asher. A home where dogs have more privileges than the rest of us made for an easy transition for my dogs. I highly recommend Tara.

Safety, trust & environment

Pets are required to be okay being crated. Although they are rarely left at my home alone, I do still leave to run errands and whatnot. I believe pets are safest while crated so they can’t harm themselves by getting into something they’re not supposed to. All pets must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper vaccines.

Information Tara R. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog is a fence jumper, persistent barker, aggressive (including food aggression or dog/cat aggressive) or any major health issues your dog or cat has.

A typical day

Depending on your pets needs they will either be allowed to romp around in our fenced in yard (it’s not a super tall fence so please let me know if your dog is a fence jumper) and/or go for walks numerous times a day. They will also be able to have free roam inside where they have plenty of space to romp around. Cats will be in three tier kitty condos throughout their stay.

Pets are put away in kennels overnight and during “nap” time. Cats are in their own three tier kitty condos throughout their stay.
