Knowledgable vet assistant! 🩺

Pet care experience

With my experience as a kennel tech at a doggy daycare/rescue and former veterinary assistant, I can provide your pet with the best care possible. I have a dog park that is communal at my apartment complex with astro turf and is fenced. No sweat about about grass allergies! Please bring by treats, food, medications for stay plus 1 day in case of travel issues (if applicable), favorite bedding, and toys they love. Bringing a piece of home and familiarity helps calms them and feel more comfortable in a different environment. Bring an additional 2 days of any medication in case you need to extend the stay due to travel causing delays. For drop ins and walks: I have the tools needed to keep your furry one active and having fun, while keeping safety in mind. My approach is positivity based and I use treats, your pet's favorite toy, or affection to praise when performing a trick. Let me know which treats or toys that are most enjoyed by your pet! Keeping things as routine and similar to when you're home is my goal. I *highly* prefer you have a harness instead of just a collar for walks. Harnesses stress dogs less than the old school method of leashing/choke collars and are harder to slip out of. Additionally dogs with tracheal cough are endangered with utilizing the collar method. Let’s walk dogs gently!

Tara was great watching our 2 yr old dog for a few days. We appreciated the photos and updates! We would definitely have our dog stay with her again.

Tara was amazing! Super communicative and great with our dog Jax. She was thoughtful in her approach and very good about his medicine schedule. Thank you Tara!

Tara took amazing care of my senior pup! Willow needed medications multiple times a day and also had spine issues and Tara took care of her just as I would have. I got multiple videos and photos a day, which made me feel so much better. I would gladly reach out to Tara again to look after Willow. She hardly wanted to come home with me when I picked her up!

Tara was an awesome sitter for our dog. She was an excellent communicator and even sent videos and pictures every day. She’s very clearly an expert with animals with her past veterinary training. Our dog can be wary of new people, and he took to Tara very quickly. You are in good hands with her!

I live in a small studio apartment, and can have small dogs stay with me. I have a baby gate to use to separate your dog/s for feeding, if applicable. Snuggles are always offered to your fur babies, I respect wherever their human social needs are at. I can board up to two dogs. Either from the same family or from two families. When boarding dogs from different families I always have had one or both stay with me before. For drop ins at your home: I keep the place clean, socialize with your animals at their pace, and make sure to follow any instructions for home care. NURSING SKILLS *Oral medication administration *Detailed description of condition of pet in medical terms *First aid/CPR of cats and dogs *Checking vital signs *Insulin Administration *Fear Free™️ trained COVID-19 AND MONKEY POX *Received the first dose of the new bivalent vaccine Oct. 17 2022 *Vaccinated for both doses of Monkey Pox *I always wear a KN95 mask in your home and during visits * If you have had COVID-19 within the last 2 weeks I cannot meet or accept a booking *If you have active lesions from Monkey Pox I cannot meet or accept a booking MEET AND GREETS I am more then happy to visit your residence to go over feeding, location of your animals toys/food/medicine, and exchange of keys. I require an additional booking for a drop in visit booking for meet and greets. For boarding, I ask for a $20 tip for a meet and greet outside my apartment complex and in the communal dog park. RESPECTFUL OF MY NEIGHBORS As an additional note: as I live in a apartment building, I have to be considerate to my neighbors. When I have to go out to do anything outside of my home I would need your pet to not bark continuously while being left unattended for short amounts of time, or barking a lot in general in my home. DAMAGE TO PREMISES OR MY BELONGINGS Any damage to my home or things by your pet will result in a bill. I keep your dog/s away from most of my items, but there are some things I cannot reasonably keep out of range such as my bedding. MEDICATION: please have instructions as well as the bottles or containers for medications. If you are delayed for some reason, or there is a medical emergency things go smoother with this being prepared.

Information Tara M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet/s has special needs, allergies, or needs to take medication or supplements. Any training you want me to adhere to or any tricks you want me to practice with them, please give me a heads up. BATHING UPGRADE If your furry family member/s need a bath, I can provide that service for an additional $30 for short haired dogs or an additional $50 for long haired dogs. Please bring your own shampoo/conditioner if they have special needs, otherwise I use sensitive skin shampoo. For sanitary reasons, I ask that the owner provides their own brushes and/or combs. VACCINATIONS Dogs in my care are required to have rabies, bordetella, DHPP (parvo virus etc) vaccines up to date. For additional protection for your pet, it is usually highly advisable to get the canine flu virus vaccine as well, however, this is not required. EMERGENCIES AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL If you feel comfortable, I would like to have an emergency contact with someone in the area. With international travel, please let me know the dates you will be in each time zone you are going to be in if it is in multiple locals.

A typical day

A TYPICAL DAY BOARDING Love to go on walks! Two short walks around the block are included for each night boarding. If your pet needs more exercise, I charge $25 per half hour walk. Your pups will have plenty of outdoor time if they need it! Meals can be given up to 3 times a day, but I will not do “free feedings” because I need to know if your pet is consuming food each day. Fresh water will be supplied daily.
