Hi there! I’m brand new to Rover and absolutely ADORE dogs - I can’t wait to shower your pup with snuggles and cuddles, or whatever makes them feel safe and loved! Until a year ago, I had the pleasure and honor of caring for my sweet, senior chihuahua rescue for 6 years (😇🌈), so I am experienced with the day-to-day care and considerations required when caring for a small and/or aging pet. I also know what it’s like to feel a little nervous about leaving your beloved fur baby in the care of someone else, wondering if they will be as attentive and loving towards them as you are and if your pup will feel comfortable and happy. I felt the same way with my pup and found some wonderful sitters here on Rover - that experience made me want to become a sitter myself and provide the same reassurance and peace of mind to others! ACTIVITIES: I live less than 5 minutes from Saratoga Park, so I’m happy to take your pup there for a little stroll or chill park hang on a blanket! I also love taking long evening walks, so if your pup would enjoy joining by sling/backpack/stroller, we can make that happen too :-)

Tara took amazing care of our dog Nellie! She met with us to make sure she understood what our dog needed, and she was very communicative beforehand and during the stay. She sent updates and pictures every day as well! I was very anxious about leaving Nellie with someone new, but I feel so lucky to have found Tara. It was clear that Nellie was given tons of love and care, and Tara showed her so much affection (even though Nellie can be a bit difficult in the cold, lol!) Tara also handled our dog’s more particular diet perfectly and didn’t let me worry even when I forgot to pack extra poop bags. She understands how hard it is to leave a pet, and she went the extra mile to make me feel at ease. I would 1000% bring any dog to Tara again.

SAFETY / ENVIRONMENT: I’m a solo dweller (no roommates, children, or other pets), so your pup will have my full attention and free range of my apartment (let me know if there is anything in particular that they should avoid!). I can crate your pup if needed and also have a few bedding and feeding supplies (e.g. bowls) on hand just in case.

I’d love to understand your dog’s temperament and if they have any special needs or behaviors that I can account for (e.g. allergies, separation anxiety, medication schedule, likes to dance at night lol). I also live in a high-traffic building, so let me know if your pup is sensitive to people constantly walking by the door. I especially would need to know if they are prone to barking because of this, as I WFH and am often on client calls. Thank you in advance for these details - I want to make sure your pup is as comfortable as possible and has a positive experience during their stay!
A typical day
Park and outdoor patio hangs Casual neighborhood strolls Movie nights and couch cuddles I’m used to senior / low energy dogs, so I’m happy to let your fur baby simply relax if that’s what they prefer ☺️ I’m also down to play fetch or gently rough-house with your pup if they’re high-energy and enjoy that too!

SCHEDULE: I work from home full-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with and attend to your pup! In the event that I need to leave home, I can easily crate your pup or secure them safely in one of my rooms (or take them with if the destination is dog-friendly!).
