Registered Veterinary Nurse

I am a registered veterinary nurse with 6 years of experience, including 4 years serving as a veterinary nurse in the army. During this time, I worked with a wide range of dogs, including large and high-energy working dogs, giving me strong handling skills and confidence in different environments. I have experience administering medication and providing care at all stages of a dog’s life—from young puppies through to senior dogs with more complex needs. I am also trained in canine first aid, so your dog’s health and safety are always a top priority while in my care.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I have a fully secure garden with a 6ft fence, providing a safe outdoor space for play and exercise. I also have two friendly dogs at home who are well-socialised. However, I understand that every pet is different, so I’m able to keep them separated if needed to ensure your pet feels relaxed and secure at all times. I aim to provide a calm, caring environment where your pet can feel at home while you’re away 🐾

A typical day

A typical day in my house is active, structured, and centred around the dog’s wellbeing. I am a physically active person and provide three walks each day: a morning, midday and evening walk. My home is situated on the edge of a country park, giving easy access to a variety of walking routes, woodland paths and open space, ensuring plenty of opportunities for exercise, exploration, and new spaces. In addition to physical exercise, I place a strong emphasis on mental stimulation. I provide enrichment activities such as Kongs, snuffle mats, and a variety of puzzle games to keep dogs engaged, encourage problem-solving, and help prevent boredom. These activities are incorporated into the daily routine alongside play and relaxation time. The combination of regular exercise, mental enrichment and access to a wide range of outdoor environments allows me to offer a balanced, fulfilling lifestyle for a dog, tailored to their individual needs and energy levels.

Before any booking, I think it's important to know as much as possible about your pet so I can provide the best care and ensure they feel comfortable and happy during their stay. Please let me know about their personality, routine, exercise needs, feeding schedule, any medical conditions or medications, training cues, and how they interact with people, and other dogs. I would also like to know about any fears, anxieties, triggers, or behaviours that may require extra attention, such as separation anxiety, resource guarding, reactivity, or escape tendencies. Information about their favourite toys, treats, sleeping arrangements, and anything that helps them settle will also be very helpful. To help ensure we're the right fit for each other, I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before confirming a booking. I also offer an overnight trial stay, which can be a great way for your dog to become familiar with my home and routine before a longer stay. My goal is to maintain your pet's normal routine as closely as possible and provide a safe, enjoyable, and stress-free experience while you're away.
