Pet care experience
I have always loved dogs! I am a volunteer dog sitter with a service dog organization since spring of 2022. I raised a Bernese/lab cross from puppyhood until her passing at 14yrs of age, and adopted a Beagle with some “quirks” at age 2 until his passing at 12 years of age. I am familiar with basic obedience training techniques and have my summers free.

Tara is absolutely wonderful! She takes great care of our Lucy girl. Lots of snuggles, walks and attention. Lucy didn't even want to come home the last time we picked her up! I feel so comfortable having her take care of our girl. It's like a home away from home for Lucy. Thank you so much Tara!
Archie has had a number of stays with Tara and he is always excited to go. When he gets out of the car in her driveway, he is anxious to get in and see her. She sends pics to let us know how he is doing. Archie loves his vacations at Tara’s and it is comforting to know that he is happy and content, so we can enjoy ours.
Tara and her husband were absolutely amazing a with our baby girl, she almost didn’t want to come home with us! I totally recommend them and I will definitely book them again!

I have a fenced yard, and I also live right near the walking trail. I occasionally take a drive to the nearest dog park for the dogs in my care to socialize. I prefer pets to be crated when I am not home unless and until I am comfortable.

I’d like to know if the dog is fully housebroken and/or how it will let me know when it needs outside. I’d like to know about any anxiety or special needs/medication the dog might need. Is your dog crate trained? Are they okay with cats?
A typical day
Long walks in my neighborhood, along the river and down the rail trail. Games of fetch with favourite toys in my large fenced in yard. Lots of treats and snuggles on the couch at night.

Availability
I can walk or board pets during the school year around my work schedule, which means a 15 min walk at 8 am, an outing in our fenced backyard at lunch time, and a long walk in the evening. It’s import to note that, as a teacher, I work outside the home when school is in. During the summer months, I have a lot more time to devote to dog walking and/or caring for your dog if staying with me.
