Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs, and had been volunteering, looking after dogs every now and then for the past 20 years. This is one of the things I do that give me energy! Our last rescue was a skittish Terrier mix (The ginger hair with all the babies in the picture). When we lost him, we were led to learn that large dogs are often put down first. It was when we adopted our Pyrenees lab retriever mix 3 years ago. (it's just a guess but she does behave like one- more about her below). She is currently 8.

Our dog Bentley had a great weekend with Tanya and her family! She kept us up to date on how he was doing throughout the weekend.
Tanya is a great sitter, she is very accommodating to our dogs needs. She keeps you updated through the day on how things are going so you don’t have to worry. All I have to say is my dog had a blast, it was like he was on vacation too. Especially with Zoe, she the best! She is now our dog’s new bestie!
I found Tanya on Rover, and she is probably the best dog sitter I can find!!! Tanya is very caring for my four legged son, simba, and took the time to check all my specific needs. It also helps a lot with the company of Tanya's super calm and gentle dog, Zoe. Simba had a blast during his stay and didn't seem to care too much about going home with me after just a few days hanging out there (which is a bit sad for me 😜 ) . I would definitely recommend Tanya and I am pretty sure that simba would love to visit his pal, Zoe, from time to time!
Our dog had so much fun at Tanya’s and he didn’t want to come home 😅. Knowing how much Tanya loves dogs, I can say your dog will be well taken care of. And their dog is the sweetest and the most gentle I have ever seen. I should add that we met over a FB dog enthusiasts group and she simply helped look after our dog without charging anything. Thanks again !

--YOU WILL NOT NEED TO BRING ANYTHING (But of course you can bring your or your dog's item so that may give your dog some familiarity. Your dog can sleep on our dog's bed too. She is happy to share) --POTTY: We can only care for dog potty trained (since part of our house is carpeted) --IMPORTANT: We have a toddler. So if you have a super hyper 60+ pounds dog that tends to jump on ppl. We are sorry it is not the best fit. -- SPECIAL REQUEST: If medication, allergies, or any other special assistance is required, please inform us before the meet and greet.
A typical day
During the weekdays, we take dogs to Ken Mercer Park for nice walks. If the dogs get along and have good recall, we will let them off the leash and take them to dog parks or trails that are a little further away. During the weekend, we typically try to bring the dog with us to be sociable, but you can let us know if you prefer your dog to stay in. When not walking, our dog enjoys sunbathing, chasing squirrels, or napping during the day. We play fetch with the dogs when it's not too hot.

7-8am 1st Walk -> Breakfast 1-2pm 2nd Walk 6-7pm Walk -> Dinner * As I work part-time from home, and my husband is home around 40-60% of the time on weekdays, there's usually someone present to tend to our furry friends' needs. * INDOOR/OUTDOOR: We let our dog decide when they want to be indoors or outdoors. Our dog is a Pyrenees so she prefers outside but your dog can stay be indoor all the time if he/she prefers. :-) * OUTINGS - We usually take dog(s) with us as much as we could during the weekend. If you don't prefer that, please let us know!
