My life is all about animals!!! I love them and I feel they have so much to give us and our lives. They are the only ones who can give unconditional love to everyone they meet. And I feel the same about them. I had a pet sitting business in Selah Washington for 10 years. I started out going to peoples homes and after two years we built a doggy bed and biscuit where dogs could stay while their people were gone. We built 6 rooms the size of a humans bedroom with a half acre of grass and trees for dogs to run. I had to stop taking new clients for the last two years because my client list was completely full and I wanted to be available for the established clients I already had. After ten years of 24/7 working I decided to take time with and for my husband and in doing that I used my rooms to foster mama dogs and their pups from the Pet Rescue in town and the Humane Society. I did that for 3-4 years. Then, I moved back to Bellingham, my home town to be closer to my mom. I went to a dog grooming school in Kenmore Washington but in the end found out I have a permanent shake in my hand so I wasn't able to use sharp objects around a moving animal. I am now a groomers assistant at a grooming salon in town and have been there for 4 years an another place before that for 3 years. Arthritis is taking over in my thumbs so it makes it a little harder to do all I need to do for 8-9 hours at a time. I am also volunteering at the Whatcom Humane Society thrift store and it is amazing just how many animal lovers we have in our area. I thought now would be a good time to get back into pet sitting part time. And Rover seems to make it so much easier to do then all the things I had to do on my own (insurance, advertising etc.) Please let me know if you need my help when you go on your next trip.
