Everyday's an adventure @ Camp Tamm
Pet care experience
Hello Rover Community! If I could have an entire pack to lead I would. For now, it's just me and Archer (my Cocker Spaniel). I am a devout Cesar Millanist (the Dog Whisperer) who always practices calm-assertiveness. I generally find that a stern look, a snap of my fingers, or even turning my back to a misbehaving dog is an infinitely more effective form of discipline than shouting. I have the patience of a saint. Helping a dog to understand that I would prefer that he not pull the leash on a walk by teaching him to walk beside me or behind me might take an hour but it will happen. I work from home for a technology company based in Silicon Valley. I am quick to incorporate the dogs who stay with me into our daily routine. I've never had dog not think of me as Auntie Tamm -- even after just one stay. Their owners think of my apartment as Camp Tamm. I'm always excited to welcome a new member to my little pack.
Reviews
Duke loves his time with Tammi and we are so thankful we found her. I am able to enjoy my travel so much more knowing he is loved in her home.
Tammi always takes great care of our pup whom she has watched several times. Plus we always get perfectly-posed photo updates
My shiba Mochi loves staying with Tammi. She takes very good care of him. This makes my travel much more enjoyable when I know my dog is in good hands. Thank you, Tammi!
Tammi was fantastic watching our 2 dogs over the holiday break. She sent regular photo and video updates, and was so flexible when our schedule changed due to the snow. Thanks Tammi!

I live in a good-sized, dog-friendly one-bedroom apartment that has a dog area on the rooftop. In addition to walks, we do almost daily visits to dog parks. I have adopted many practices to ensure that dogs are happy and comfortable. I always meet outside my building for meet & greets, drop-offs and pickups because dogs are always more relaxed in neutral territory. Meal-time is closely supervised and each dog gets their own bowl. I help to keep the pack calm by teaching them to walk next to or behind me and to wait before going through doors. One of my tricks it to get them to sit to wait for me to call their name when it's their turn for almost everything: treats, leash removal, going into and coming out of the car, getting pets or cuddle time, etc. It's because I consistently follow these practices that I can get a group of 2 - 8 dogs to line up to pose for pictures (some of which you can see in my profile pics).

Information Tammi C. would like to know about your pet
I have a cocker spaniel who is generally very friendly to most dogs. He is partial to calm dogs, is particularly interested smaller breeds, and loves a poodle mix of any size. Unfortunately he does not yet love any boxers or bulldogs types.
A typical day
Multiple daily walks. If the weather is nice enough we will hit one of the local parks. If your dog likes to swim (and if it's cool with you, of course) we will seek out a nice swimming hole. I take many pictures!

I have been working remotely for a tech company based in California for almost 10 years. My dog is definitely a "momma's boy" so I decided to join the Rover community so that he would have more opportunities to socialize and so I can meet & play with more dogs. I've learned over time that dogs love schedules so I follow a routine for meals, bathroom breaks, treats, walks, dog park visits, naps, and sleep time.
