After I was born and brought home from the hospital, I was immediately thrust into the 'pack' at home my parents had cultivated with themselves and their two siberian huskies. When I was 6 months old I was given a mini dachshund and had her until I was 18 years old. During my childhood and over the years we have also had an akita mix, hound mix, dalmation/lab mix, another mini dachshund, golden retriever, two german shepherd/husky mixes, an english mastiff, and a chihuahua/jack russel mix. I am extremely comfortable with dogs of all sizes and have dealt with my fair share of medical issues and the like between them all over the years. I am comfortable administering medication, taking them on daily walks, and playing. In June and July I sit for a family who has two rescues while they spend 3-4 weeks in Hawaii; I basically move in for the entire duration of their trip. I am also an early bird and prefer to take walks before or at sunrise. While I do not have any dogs currently, I have undertaken rescuing/fostering cats and kittens for the past 10 years or so. I have two cats and one kitten at home right now, feed a half dozen ferals at 4AM every day, and have experience pet sitting cats as well. I also tend to bring all the pets gifts throughout my stay with them, it seems to bring everyone involved a lot of joy.
