Hello, I'm Tamara. I'm looking forward to becoming a part of your pet’s life! I hope that you will call on me regularly so that your best furry friend and I can establish a bond. That way, you’ll have the best peace of mind possible, knowing everything is going smoothly. Having grown up on a farm here in Humboldt, I have experience caring for many different types of animals. While living out of the area, I completed canine training courses through the SPCA. I also worked with a county Animal Shelter to foster/adopt out dogs that needed more care than the shelter could provide. I have fostered many dogs over the years and all of my own pets have been rescues. I have experience with a range of challenging behaviors and health needs. Before booking for dog sitting/boarding, I will request to schedule a meet & greet. Pick up/drop off service is available for Eureka proper area.

I know it’s hard to be away from your fur pups, but just when you think there is no doggy day care that “will care for my babies like I do”……there is a solution, it’s Tamara. She has been caring for my pups like they are her own. The fun takes place at her home and in her yard. One on one care, naps when they need it, treats and so much play time. It’s truly their home away from home. My Weimaraner mix has been with her for almost one year and I just rescued a senior Yorkie who, thankfully, blended into the fur family with Tamara’s experienced love, touch and supervision. My pups can’t wait to get there in the mornings!! I have never once worried about their care.

I've known Tamara for over 25 years and for those years I've seen her care for countless animals. Tamara has started and run a Pit Bull rescue and never turned away a dog in need. Tamara was the person I turned to when I got my first dog. She helped guide me through the process and she was there every time I needed help in the first months of having my new (rescue) dog. She helped me train him and helped me learn how to be a responsible dog owner as well. She also (of course) takes care of my dog, cat and house whenever I have to travel for work.

I have a large fenced yard with plenty of room to play. I have a ball launching machine to help entertain and exercise the pack. I have a variety of toys and three dogs to keep yours entertained. Beds, blankets and water bowls are provided inside and outside.

When sending a request for booking, please answer these questions: 1). Is your puppy/dog potty trained or does a/he have accidents? 2) Is your dog crate trained? 3) Does your puppy have any aggression towards people? Other dogs? Poultry? Guarding resources-food or toys? 4) Is your pup current on all vaccinations and flea/tick medication? How well does your dog walk on a leash? Are there any situations that may cause distress while we are out? 5) Is your dog prone to excessive barking or whining? 6) What commands is your dog responsive to? 7) Are there any special medical conditions or medication needs or allergies that I should be aware of? 8)Let me know your pet’s activity level. High energy? Mellow and low key? 9) Any other pertinent information you think I should be aware of. I look forward to hearing from you!!
A typical day
I am an avid walker. Your dog and I will take walks around Eureka. If there are places that your pet truly enjoys walking, let me know.

Availability
Drop off can start as early as 7:30-8:00am, weekdays. I work from home, so I rarely need to be out of the house. I usually have a helper to stay with the dogs or, more often, I will take them along for a ride should I need to run an errand. Your pet will have constant supervision and care. Pick up is no later than 5:30pm. If you need a longer stay, we may be able to arrange it, but at an increased fee.
