Tamara Arnew Hi! Hello, I’m Tamara. I’m a crazy dog lady. I love dogs more than possibly anyone on this planet or the next. I have 3 rescues of my own and have been a home as needed for many others. My life is full of dog hair, constantly picking up poo, trying to sleep in past 4:15 A.M, being Switzerland in a world of toy and treat negotiations, taking up the smallest corner of a Queen size bed and dreaming of eating or showering without being watched. Two of my dogs have significant behavioural challenges and our day-to-day has to be very carefully managed with them in mind. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. My cumulative work and personal experience led me to opening up Helicopter Tail co. in the Summer of 2019. I previously worked full time in dog rescue and shelter work for a number of years, as various roles in vet clinics, had a dog treat company and finally became a dog walker in the Annex area. Immediately, I couldn’t believe it was a “job” I could have - to the point where it wasn’t just a job anymore (serious question: how can anything with dogs feel like a job?!) Then we moved to Cabbagetown and I fell head over heels in love with the neighbourhood and the “dog people” here.I’m fully insured and bonded with ProFur and licensed by the City of Toronto. I’m always trying to further my education and understanding of dog behaviours and immerse myself in the professional resources available. I always have a pocket full of treats. Arguably, one of my top five qualities.
