Pet care experience
I spent a summer rehabbing wildlife in upstate NY. I've trained rats, birds, cats and dogs with positive reinforcement techniques and open communication. I believe in the emotional complexity of our animal companions while recognizing their needs are very different than our own. I want to see your pet happy, healthy, and tired out at the end of the day from playing. I watch shows like canine intervention and it's me or the dog. I read AKC summaries about breeds and best practices for training. I've done canine agility training with my own dog and I think it's a wonderful way to bond. I don't ascribe to the dichotomy of cats vs. dogs. All dogs are good dogs, Brent, and cats rule the internet. I just really prefer not to deal with fish.
Reviews
If you have an animal, they will love Talbot. Talbot has been around animals all of her life and will treat your pet like a member of her family. Also, she is probably the only non-professional animal trainer that I have seen train a cat and a bird to do tricks.
T has done a great job with our fickle boston terrier. He really responds to her attention and training. She’s infinitely patient and clever with ideas to keep him engaged and curious. Highly recommend.

Information Talbot A. would like to know about your pet
I've volunteered at animal shelters since college. I'm pretty good at accounting for special behavioral needs, so just let me know what do's or don'ts will make your dog's day better.
A typical day
A tired dog is a well-behaved dog. We can work on trick commands (positive reinforcement only!), go for walks, and try out puzzles. My current favorite puzzle game for pups involves a cupcake tin, tennis balls, and treats.
