I should have trusted my instincts and chosen a different sitter after she set up a meet and greet time and then was significantly delayed in getting there. However, I needed to travel so I gave her a chance. A few days into my trip she contacted me saying that she wouldn't be able to continue caring for Cleo because it must be her "time of the month" and that she was bleeding on her carpet. Cleo is spayed. It says that in her profile. After scrambling to find a new dogsitter it became clear that my dog had loose stools - which combined with the dogsitter's red carpet made her think that my dog was bleeding. I paid for the dogsitter's Uber trip to the vet to get Cleo checked out and was able to get a different dogsitter (who I trust) to take over caring for Cleo. This was by far the worst dogsitting experience I've had thus far.
