I have been caring for my own three Labradors for a few years now, but before becoming a proud pet parent, I would regularly visit my local animal shelter to play with the animals there. Once I had a home, we even began fostering pets until they got their forever homes. First was an older dog with serious depression, and another was a sweet puppy that was abandoned out by our country home. Moving my dogs from the country to the city, I have learned many ways to train my dogs to walk on a loose lead. I have trained the following tasks, in no particular order: - Waterfowl Retrieval (includes using scent to locate the bird, waiting for the fetch command, returning the bird without trying to run off and eat it!) - Pull Doors Closed - Walk loose leash - Sit - Lay Down - Jump - Hug (rear up and hug. This is great for building an 'off' switch for a dog that jumps!) - Touch (bumping something with their nose, prep for teaching to push doors closed) - Get the lights! (still working on this one!) - Shake I love the opportunity to take these country dogs around the city and give them the opportunity to show them the world! These types of opportunities are what I look forward to sharing with your pets!
