Mindfully living among pets
Pet care experience
I grew up with a dozen family Great Danes, then Oliver, my 1st Rottweiler, came into my life. 3 years ago, when we met, I had virtually no training skill, nobody I knew had puppy training skills, so we started from the ground up. We spent 10 months radically focused on puppy training. I determined that to mitigate frustration on both our parts, I would intentionally connect with each experience of training — even if it's slower. This way, we learned more together, and felt better doing it. I've been dog-sitting for 10 years. Typically, my clientele includes different breeds of dogs with a cat or two. I have worked with dogs up to age 14. With experience, I am able to spot reactivity in the first stages, and redirect the overwhelm. If the reactivity has escalated, I know how to approach the situation. I empathize with your pet's reactivity. It is not their fault. It is not your fault. Specialties: •large, extra-large •reactivity •grooming •training, especially in walks! •in adolescence •puppy training •senior care •hyperactivity My specialties are a list of specifics I'm not only great at working with, but love to.

Safety, trust & environment
I'm a clean person, with a respectful approach to washing your pets and home. I wash food & water bowls after each use. I brush fur, teeth, and assure pets that they're in a stable environment.
Information Tabitha L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet has •allergies •other medical conditions •unique behaviors Send me a message so I can become better prepared for your little loves.
A typical day
I encourage pets to stimulate their minds and explore different hobbies. However, it's important to take a breath, let the enrichment sink in. I listen to pets and their cues; gently adjusting active pets to relaxing (and vice-versa), as if they were a wave in the ocean. Activities below come from a typical day, if the pet permits. Active activities: •running, trotting, jogging along at different paces •playful training •enrichment games – e.g. "the towel game" •communication during walks (doesn't need to be vocal) •smelling new areas •washing their coat (I like Johnson's baby wash & shampoo) •wandering pet-friendly stores •teeth brushing •getting to know how they tick Relaxing: •a slow, familiar walk •people watching in the park •brushing their fur •shoulder massage •rest with physical contact •sunbathing
